Futassaid: Bad luck mitigation to skilling pets for the love of god, i'm almost 99 slayer trying to get crabbe and i don't even know if i can actually get it. Once you hit 99 slayer, you can actually start to realistically expect Crabbe, but you'll have to keep training further. Harsh but it's the reality.

Increase rates by 1% per lost cresbot, All those cresbots coulda been crabbe! But automatons can be killed off-task, when you have zero chance for Crabbe, so it's not that straight-forward. They're a pretty rare slayer task to get as well, so most of the kills are probably done off-task.
Big Stormssaid: Hahahaha "realistically expect Crabbe" once you hit 99 slayer =p. Lets just say that has not been my experience. Honestly though these skilling pets do not really interest me anymore: they have been implemented with such RNG dependency that getting one does not really mean much.
It is not only the fact that some people never seem to be able to get them due to bad luck, it is also due to some people being able to get them through luck and zero effort. Getting a boss pet at least shows you are capable to kill a certain boss, the skilling pets just show you have spend at least more than one tick on getting experience in a certain skill by means through which you can also get strange rocks. Bad luck mitigation is not going to fix this. Gotten the farming pet yesterday but probably never even going to use it =/
I might just get Crabbe by just casual slayer some time in the next years just to fill out my slayer pet list, but I am never going to actively hunt them. Yeah, I know, I feel embarrassed to say that getting a 99 is when you can start to realistically expect skilling pets, but that's the only 100% sure thing you can say about the skilling pet drop rates, due to how arrogantly Jagex has handled the skilling pets in RS3 (in OSRS, they were much more open about it, which is a good thing). I never got Crabbe either when I reached 120 slayer (still don't have it), and yet I can't tell whether I'm normally dry or unluckily dry. Only thing I can tell is that if you don't get Crabbe before 99, you're doing fine. Well, that and the fact that Futas has complained about skilling pets much more than those of us who've been significantly more dry for them.
