Here we are, yet again. This time in "support" of mental health.

So let's do the math.
To complete the event, you need to gather a total of 10k tokens within 6 days. This is better than the last 'event', but only marginally.

You seem to collect roughly
25 tokens every 3 minutes
.
That amounts to
500 tokens in an hour
.
Split evenly across 6 days, that is just under
1700 tokens a day, costing 3.5 hours every single day!

Well, 3.5 hours is definitely better than the 5 hours a day for the last one, but it's hardly healthy; especially since this isn't a "choice".
Players might want to sit down and read a book, or play another game. Or heck, maybe even play Runescape but do something other than grinding (like a quest). But because of this event, players feel like if they're not spending that time on Runescape then they're wasting time. And while you will live and the world will not end if the rewards aren't obtained; why should you miss out on them?
They're free
.

This kind of behaviour is highly manipulative of the playerbase, made even worse by the fact if you DON'T spend excessive amounts of time grinding this out, you're forced to pay real world money ($23.19) to progress.
And I'd say anything telling you to either throw away 20 hours of your life or spend $23 is
NOT
good for anyone's mental health.

I came into this thread thinking I'd have to leave a snarky comment about snowflakes but I actually agree with you on this. These events, which I've dubbed "GrindScape", need to end. I'm grateful Jagex has dialed them back significantly from a year or two ago but they just need to end altogether. The only people who truly enjoy these are the people that spend all their time grinding and no-lifing the game. Not everyone enjoys that. Most people can only play for less than an hour per day but events like these try to force us to grind several hours every day for the duration of the event and it's absurd. ~ Jacob, Prince of the Kingdom of Heaven ~

"
Average play time is 2.5h a day for those who play everyday."

Jagex players already spend 2.5 hours a day on the average. If you think 3.5 hours "every singe day" for a short event is not healthy, then Jagex players are not playing healthy games even without live events like this week's anyway.

Older quests are not healthy neither. The older grandmaster quest likes WGS take 8 hours to complete. Perhaps the 5-10 minutes a day daily tasks as Jagex told the UK Parliaments are the healthiest after all.

For your mental health, say YES to Dailyscape. :)
