Welcome to the Slayer Nest!

The Slayer Nest was founded by Sage Lucis around February of 2008. He started the “Slayer Nest” Friends Chat while working on a slayer goal and made a thread on the Runescape forums. Since then, the Slayer Nest has grown, person by person, into the blossoming, well-rounded, and social community you see today!

Do not let our name fool you though, we are open to anyone with any interests as long as they follow our rules, so whether you need help with Slayer, have questions on new updates, or just want to relax and chat with a great group of people, the Slayer Nest is the place for you! Our Clan and all peripherals have no requirements and no applications are needed!

While we are one of the top ranking Clans on RuneScape, our primary focus is not XP, but rather providing a friendly community for everyone to enjoy. Feel free to get a taste of the action in-game in our Friends Chat, “Slayer Nest”.
~The Slayer Nest Generals~

Special thanks to our previous thread stewards:

Muffie

You’re all fantastic and thank you for keeping the thread going!

Clan info
The Slayer Nest is a diverse community made up of many different people who come from many different walks of life. Our aim is to provide a community that everyone can enjoy and to promote and develop friendships with everyone along the way. Here’s our stats at a glance:

Clan Rank: 9
Clan XP Total: 97,782,905,540 XP
Clan Size: 400-500
Average Combat Level: 130
Average Total Level: 2295
Citadel: Tier 7 (Dragon and 3 Avatars included!)
Homeworld: None (many of us play on 36 though)

We also offer a unique ranking system in the Clan Chat, more information can be provided on request!

However, don’t let these stats scare you off! We are more than willing to accept people into our community no matter what stage they’re at in the game. Whether you’re a newbie or a veteran, the Slayer Nest provides the community you’ve been looking for. We do not have mandatory events or citadel work, so if you aren’t into that kind of thing, that’s ok! We have events periodically to allow our members to hang out and get to know each other. Additionally, we do host a Wilderness Warbands chat that is a little more selective, so if you would like to participate please contact either Hopalong or MrEmmaWatson and they’ll get back to you.

Interested in our Clan but you can** join because you’re already in a clan? That’s ok! Again, we aim to be as open of a community as possible, and we do encourage people from other clans to join in our amazing community. As such, feel free to join our Friends Chat “Slayer Nest”. If you’re worried that you’ll miss out on some of the services we provide to clan members, do not worry. All of our events are open to anyone, from the FC****, or otherwise (your friends are welcome to join in too!).

So whether you’re looking for an extremely active clan, a place to chat with friendly players, or just want to have a good time, the Slayer Nest is here for you!

Rules
To ensure our community remains an enjoyable place for everyone there are a number of rules that must be followed at all times. Not only should our own rules be followed, but those set by Jagex themselves. Those who break JaGeX’s rules will not be shown leniency and may be reported!

In our chat we do not want to see the following:

1. Breaking JaGeX Code of Conduct – If you are not familiar with the game’s rules, please look at them through the homepage. Anyone found breaking these rules will be warned (maybe even kicked without warning based on the severity of the infraction).

2. Spamming – Do not do it. Our Captains and Generals are trained to impulsively kick someone who has spammed a few lines within a second. We have no tolerance for this, and warnings will not be issued. You will be kicked on sight if caught doing this.

3. Offensive/Inappropriate Usernames – Our community has members from all over the world and from different backgrounds, names that can upset people or pertain to adult matters are not wanted in our FC/CC. Those who wish to join our community with such names will be kicked with a message stating that they were kicked because of their name.

4. Trolling/Negative comments/Flaming/Insults – This chat is for people to come and have fun, gain knowledge, and take away the grind of skills. Those who wish to come into the chat to annoy others will be kicked! This community is not a place for people to start fights!

5. Swearing – Although JaGeX has an option to toggle the censor off, that does not mean we permit it in the chat. Please curb your swearing to a minimum while in the chat, those who are found heavily swearing will be warned to stop. Certain swears will be permitted from time to time (Hell, Ass and Damn), but if you use these in a context where we feel you’re insulting someone, you will be warned to stop.

Rules (cont)
6. Respecting Ranks – Ranks have been awarded their rank because they have the capability and maturity to make the community a more enjoyable place. When asked to stop or change topic by a Captain or General, please do so. They have the chat’s best interests in mind. Non-compliance with this will result in a kick.

7. Banned Topics * We understand that many members are at an age that this is a common discussion but, these topics have often lead to arguments and those more attach to the subject being upset. The banned topics are as follows:
1. Politics
2. Religion
3. Racism
4. Drug use or any other illegal activity

8. Begging – We strongly discourage begging since it doesn't instill the community feel that we so cherish in the Nest. You will be warned for doing this, and possibly kicked if you continue begging after the warning. This includes when you see that somebody is planning on quitting in the Friends Chat, don't ask for their items!

Rules broken will result in a warning. Failure to cease what you were warned about will lead to a kick and possibly a ban. Some scenarios do not require a warning to be given, so follow rules carefully!

Chat Ranks
We often get asked about ranks in the chat. Remember, we expect people to come here to chat and socialize, not gain ranks as their main goal. People that bring a friendly positive "vibe" in our chat will eventually gain star ranks. These people can be seen as trustworthy, loyal, and dedicated to the chat. Please, DO NOT ask for ranks.

Lieutenant (Admin)
– Lieutenants are our knowledgeable and friendly players that are active in our FC and CC. Whenever these players are logged in, they are actively participating in these chats to keep them positive and constructive. These players are all knowledgeable in quests, monsters, and skills; really anything in the game. These players also help us by bumping our thread to bring it to page 1 where other players can find us. Bump only once per 10-15 minutes to keep the FMods happy. On top of this, these players spread the word about our chat to other players in game to keep our community thriving. The more people we have, the more interesting the Nest will become for all of our members. Additionally, these ranks have access to our Avatars.
Note to Admins: If you summon an Avatar, please shout out your world and location from time to time in the CC, and be sure to dismiss it when you’re done!
If you haven’t received the Avatar Warden yet and you are a Lieutenant, contact a General and we’ll be more than happy to fix that.

Captain (Organizer)
: Captains are our Lieutenants who have shown exceptional ability among their fellow lieutenants in keeping the chat positive, and intervening when necessary. They are dedicated entirely to the community, and have a great deal of maturity. As such, these are the people who are in charge of enforcing rules in both our FC and CC. As a Captain, be sure you have all the Generals and Captains added to your friends list in case you need to PM one of us.

General (Deputy Owner and Owner)
: In addition to the duties of a Captain, Generals take charge of the FC and CC. Communication is very important. Whenever there are important matters to be discussed, such as ranking, a player’s behaviour, etc. It is usually done through PM’s. Generals are also responsible for welcoming newcomers and keeping the general flow of conversation positive. They have the best interest of the Nest in mind and will often give their time with nothing in return.

11. Attuned ectoplasmator – Gives a marginal amount of Prayer XP per shade or ghost that is killed and also scatters ashes dropped by demons for additional Prayer XP. NOTE: This version does work with the necklaces in #6. Can be obtained by adding 100 ghostly essences to an ectoplasmator. It will degrade steadily and you will need to add more ghostly essence to restore its charge.
12. Impious/Accursed/Infernal Urns – These can be used to automatically store any ash drops and give you 1.2x their scattering XP when teleported away. NOTE: This does not allow you to keep the ashes. Obtained by adding an air rune to its (nr) variant. These are consumed on teleporting away.
13. Spring Cleaner (and springs) – reverts items to their ore components in noted form. It is Obtained through Treasure Hunter and it will degrade steadily and you will need to add more springs to restore its charge.
14. Salve Amulet (e) – Provides a 20% damage and accuracy boost for all styles against undead monsters. NOTE: This DOES stack with the Slayer Helmet boost. Obtained by mining a salve shard from a crystal outcrop at the bottom of the Abandoned Mine, and strung with a ball of wool. It’s then enchanted by using Tarn’s Diary on it.

Slayer Etiquette
1. Crashing - Do not crash other player's slayer locations. It only takes a few moments to hop to another world. If you get crashed, do not respond to flaming. Be mature and politely ask the person to hop to another world. If they choose not to hop, simply hop to another world.

2. Cannoning - Due to recent updates to combat (EOC primarily) the cannon now has very little damage output. That said, the cannon is still useful for attracting monsters to your location. Please use discretion when setting up your cannon as it may disrupt someone else's Slayer task.

3. Food - If you don't need food and you get some in a drop, or if you have finished your task, you can pass this on to fellow slayer who might need it. RuneScape is not a charity organization. If you ask people for food and they do not wish to give it to you, please respect their decision and do not flame them.

4. Dying and Grave Blessing - If you see someone die, repair or bless their grave.

5. Knowledge is Power - Share your Slayer wisdom with others. If you see someone Slaying in gear that doesn't look quite up to par, or if you can help them with tips on completing their task in a more efficient manner, offer your assistance. Don't flame a player for slaying in ineffective gear or using ineffective strategies; instead, politely give them advice on how to more effectively kill their targets... and point them to our chat!

Soul Reaper
Soul Reaper is a daily D&D in which the player will be tasked by Death himself to reap the souls of specific bosses. To take part in this, the player needs to have at least 50 combat, and talk to death via a grim gem or inside of his portal north of the Draynor Village lodestone.

NOTE: These tasks do not coincide with a players current slayer task, therefore a Slayer Helmet WILL NOT provide any of its normal bonuses.

Upon completing the task, the player will be awarded a varying amount of Slayer Experience and a varying amount of Reward points that can be used to purchase several useful buffs for bossing and cosmetic overrides.

Players have the option to turn on or off Team bosses and to double the length of their task. Selecting either option boosts the amount of reaper reward points received by 25%, up to 50%.

Below are the possible tasks, the amount you may be asked to kill, the amount of Slayer Experience given, and the amount of points rewarded. Bolding indicates a team boss. Parantheses indicate the hardmode variant of the boss:

Assignment | Number assigned | XP received | Points given
Araxxi | 3-4 | 20,000 | 20
Barrows Brothers | 4-8 | 7,000 | 7
Rise of the Six | 3-5 | 20,000 | 20
Chaos Elemental | 2-8 | 10,000 | 10
Commander Zilyana | 10-15 | 12,000 (15,000) | 12 (15)
Corporeal Beast | 5-10 | 12,000 | 12
Dagannoth Kings | 10-15 | 10,000 | 10
General Graardor | 10-15 | 12,000 (15,000) | 12 (15)
Giant Mole | 3-8 | 7,000 (10,000) | 7 (10)
Har’Aken | 1-2 | 15,000 | 15
Kalphite King | 10-15 | 15,000 | 15
Kalphite Queen | 4-10 | 10,000 | 10
King Black Dragon | 4-8 | 7,000 | 7

Bossing & Training Slayer
On occasion, some of the higher level slayer masters will assign you a task that corresponds with a certain type of boss. For example, Morvran might assign you Greater Demons, and as you might expect you can then go on to kill K’ril Tsutsaroth for your entire task while enjoying the bonuses from your slayer helm. While you might not finish your task quicker this way or get the same XP/hour, some players might opt for something different to do during Slayer, to make the boss easier, or to gain quite a bit more money from their task. Below is a list of bosses (and sub-bosses), their corresponding task, and the Slayer XP given per kill. Bold denotes tasks that are commonly bossed in lieu of the normal task (disclaimer: this isn’t to say that most people don’t just kill their task, but rather which are more frequently “bossed* out based on my personal choices & experience):

Black Dragons - King Black Dragon & Queen Black Dragon - 1050.6 XP and 1693.5 XP respectively.

Dagannoths - Dagannoth Prime, Rex, and Supreme - 1068 XP each.

Greater Demons - K’ril Tsutsaroth (main ZGWD boss) & Tstanon Karlak (ZGWD melee minion) - 2151.5 XP and 209 XP respectively.

Aviansie - Kree’arra, Flight Kilisa, Flockleader Geerin, and Wingman Skree - 2934 XP for Kree, 363.8 XP each for the minions.

Kalphites - Kalphite Queen & Kalphite King - 1309.4 XP and 3963 XP respectively.

Lesser Demons - Zakl’* Gritch (ZGWD range minion) - 150 XP.

Sea Snakes - Giant Sea Snake - 150 XP.

Ghosts - Tormented wraith - 150 XP.

TzHaar - Fight Cauldron - Varying XP.
