Not likely because of conflict of interest, I think. Andrew Gowers may have to close his game related company and disengage himself from other video game related business before joining Jagex unless he wants to be a lowly non-officer, maybe, just a regular content developer.
Ahurasaid: Anyway, what he would earn as salary by working for Jagex probably makes no difference for him as he indeed is a millionaire. However, he could still work there a couple hours a week as let's say a hobby. As the very creator, RS likely is an important part of his life so the whole idea of him being part of the Jagex crew again isn't unthinkable I'd say.
I don't think money is important for a multimillionaire with his own business also in the conflicting video game industry as Jagex. It is not impossible for Andrew Gowers to be a part time consultant for Jagex on a short term project though.
Aubrey666said: Still an interesting topic despite all the... I suppose I'll call it passion? It's a double edged sword.
A bit of a side story although I think I could conceptually relate it to this topic: I remember working on something for a long while and really maturing its work, but I had to stop and continue with other goals. I returned a bit later while others continued the work... they - in terms of that work - praised my work and gave me a lot of credit, which I appreciated...
I don't think Andrew Gowers the young programmer who started DeviousMud has the same passion as Andrew Gowers the middle aged business man with his own video game company.

Lokisaid: Jaekob Caedsaid: I think that if Jagex offered Andrew a position that'd allow him to mentor the devs and have some say over how the game is developed, he might consider it but he's pretty much moved on to Fen Research now and I'm fine with that. Andrew's a great guy but if anyone really needs to return to Jagex, it's MMG.I agree tbh - MMG was probably the best person to ever hold a leadership position within Jagex, and I don't see anyone else doing a better job than him. He was amazing for the company, and it's sad that he was removed.
MMG was not removed. He was on contract and pre-announced his departure 2 years before the expiration of his contract.
