According to the Jagex financial report Jagex made 67.6m subscription revenue in 2018, 55m in 2017. In 2018 mxt revenue 24m previous year 2017 was 29m. Membership revenue went up because of osrs mobile. Why is Jagex so focused on mxt when it clearly shows membership revenue is blowing away mxt revenue by a huge margin. Mxt revenue was down 4m+ from 2017 to 2018 yet we only get more and more mxt. It's embarrassing to compare membership and mxt revenue at this point. The fact that mxt, which includes multiple things like solomon store treasure hunter currency events bonds and osrs bonds makes significantly less money then membership which requires you only to pay $11 a month tells you very few people buy into mxt.

Another reason for more membership revenue is the increased price for it for anyone who wasn't a member before.

Isn't it "mtx" instead of "mxt" (capitalization is often used too)? The latter sounds better though and it took a while before I noticed I pronounced it wrong in my head.

Flaming post removed. You should know better.

Stick to the topic.

Oh yes, youre right tuffty.

Sorry, it is obviously because billionaires need money and cant afford to pay for actual updates, so they make mtx cheaper, because they need money.

Membership revenue went up also because Bond revenue dropped from £21 mil to £1 mil.

Jagex just changed the way they handled the accounting of Bond revenue. They just booked most of the revenue from Bond as subscription revenue last year which they reported as MTX a year ago.

Meanwhile Revenues solely from TH and Ruincoins were about the same between 2017 and 2018.

Yes bonds are for membership, because if we didn't have bonds people would buy membership, which would equal more than if they didn't have bonds due to the vast amount of people that don't play or allow their kids to play due to mtx.

It won't matter if Jagex book Bond revenue as subscription or MTX to me. The fact remains Jagex's MTX revenues from TH and Runecoins made very little change the last 2 years. Only that their subscription revenue last year was vastly inflated by reporting almost all revenue from Bond as subscription revenue.

Please also keep in mind that OP considers Bond as MTX revenue and he should be corrected now that he know the "embarrassing" fact is actually a big chunk of gain in Jagex's subscription revenue last year actually came from the change in reporting Bond revenue (which again, he considers as MTX ), but not from the loss of TH and Runecoins.

They are a MTX which I use only due to the fact that Jagex sell mtx and I refuse to give them money due to that. Also I don't allow 3 people who would also be using membership to play at all due to bonds so where they would be getting 40 quid off me a month like they used to they get nothing off me except the money someone pays for the 1 bond a year I buy

Thank you for your comment although whether you refuse to give Jagex money won't change the
FACT
that MTX revenues from TH and Runecoins have not been dropping last year.

In fact if OP or somebody insists, the "embrassaing" fact from Jagex's front is they inflated their subscription revenue vastly last year by putting Bond revenue as subscription.
