Reducing them would be good, but since they're unhealthy for the game and the players even if held less frequently, they oughta be removed altogether. Making the dxp last for 120 hours straight is even worse, since instead of encouraging people to play 24/7 for 72 hours, they'd be encouraged to basically play for double that.
I guess their approach for the first few weekends to reduce the xp awarded over time wasn't that bad. Maybe rather changing it to be reduced after hitting specific xp thresholds (depending on the total level a specific player has when the weekend starts) instead of time being online (as that only managed forcing players to direct to skilling for the time their boost was still high).
Having it for 5 days with a flat reward just would extend the span of time specific players remain online at once.
Overall agreed though they should reduce the frequence of dxp weekends (maybe to once roughly every 8 months - so 3 weekends over the course of two years). If they're rare enough they could work as some kind of special ocassion, which wouldn't be too bad - the way they're now, they're not even special in the first place to be honest.Improvements: Tooltip / (F2P) QoL v2 Quick Fixes: Invention

The original weekend was fun; 2.7 multiplier gradually decreasing to 1.1, so you really had to plan and prepare. Nowadays it's a flat 2.0 for EVERYTHING including Summoning and MTX items (portables, dummies, protean crap, etc.). It just isn't fun, and the frequency is super unhealthy for the game.
But then again, there's so much MTX giving free or RWT'd xp, and even good, enjoyable game content like the POF is massively OP in terms of xp (RIP seed prices), that it would hardly solve anything if these weekends were discontinued altogether. (that said, they kind of should be, maybe limited to one a year)

I suggest leaving out the 120's discussions (you fail to see) from this thread, as OP purely reflects to double exp weekends.
Okay, my most sincere apologies for such insolence on my behalf. What I really meant was:
"As sickening as the poster's face above mine has become in accordance to his or her's arrogant attitude regarding high levels, I am resolute in my stance against dxp weekends to such an extent that Jagex need not remind me 'not to debunk others based on who posted the statement' and begrudgingly agree with said poster that dxp weekends should be removed in its entirety."

You want to moan about extra XP not being good for the game, wheres the thread on proteans and dummies....they are far worse in that respect.
All you're doing is excusing something bad for the game under the guise that "it's not as bad as <something else>", you aren't actually giving a reason as to how the dxp weekends are good for the game. If dxp weekends were actually worth keeping, you'd be able to give a good reason as to why so.
