I don't play os at all but going by their wiki. They have a slayer dungeon on their fossil island with 4 types of wyverns that's all.

Ancient Wyvern Examine Looks old enough to be fossilised.
Long-tailed Wyvern
Spitting Wyvern
Taloned Wyvern

I envision them going with some prehistoric/ancient monster theme for our version.

This lush jungle island may be full of new surprises, but don't underestimate the ancient terrors concealed within.

I am pretty sure there are ancient monsters to combat, not that sure to "slay" though.

Depending on what you think that flying creature on the right hand corner of the artwork, it is probably one of the ancient inhabitants on that island.

Do you think it actually looks like a dragon... or no.... it is a dragonfly :P... or it is a plane... it is a bird... or it is superman...

Well, more seriously, I think it looks a lot more like a winged oriental dragon, one of the kind of the Azure Dragon in the Temple of Aminishi, or the one that helped out in the fight against the Ambassador in the Shadow Reef. :)

It's pretty clear that the Land out of Time is meant to be RS3's "Fossil Island," but we definitely aren't getting fossils.

In the fifth age, Fossil Island is filled with fossils.

In the sixth? Seems like dragonkin meddling has reverted the island to an earlier state, hence the name, "Land out of Time."

If Land out of Time is meant to be the "fossil island" of RS3, then logically the real RS3 Fossil Island south of the new island will not be discovered in the future.

Orthen is the First City of the Dragonkin. It is an ancient city out of time itself which even Kerapac and the other dragonkin have little or no knowledge about. The 6th Age dragonkin probably did not even go there.

It sounds like a prehistoric city that only The Ambassador among other first generation Dragonkin as he mentioned in his journal know. I think even prehistoric Dragonkin was a very advanced civilization. They probably did not live in a place littered with fossils. ;)

Those who are interested in the Dragonkin story should read the Kranon's Ancient Journal. It talked about the ancient dragonkin and hinted on the Black Stone. I have a strong feeling that the hidden secret in The Land Out Of Time is closely related to The Black Stone and/or the kingdom of Shadow.

If you get to this new island by earning Kudos points to gain passage on the Varrock Museum barge/boat currently under construction, then by definition it is fossil Island (regardless of exactly where on the world map it is, or what name the inhabitants of Gielinor choose to refer to it as.) –= MEGA Construction Rework =–

Yea guess they chose to change the name with that museum npc saying the area known as foss- then cut off.

Least they're finally delivering on the varrock museum island plans.

They have to have another name for the new island because they can't put 2 Fossil Islands on the same grand Gielinor World Map covering both RS3 and OSRS.

Besides, the Curator actually did not talk about Fossil Island at all. He just said they were building a barge to go to "an island". Fossil Island was just the name given by Mod Mark, but not the Curator.

The new island with a new name which is not Fossil Island and not in the same location of the actual OSRS Fossil Island makes a lot of sense to the lore because now Varrock is finally competing their expedition and Jagex can close that chapter.

Seeing Jagex probably want everybody to enjoy this Summer Update, I think they may rescind the kudos requirements.

We would agree that regardless of the profitability of the loot box trade, the risks associated with them are worryingly high

No saying it can't be a new weather system later too. :)
