There's two bugs with the armor, with no expected fix currently incoming.:

1. Slayer targets register as your slayer task after the first hit. Their first hit will frequently cause your armor to degrade normally.

2. Reaper targets that summon minions will not have their minions count as your reaper target. Meaning something like Araxor will not degrade your armor, but hits from the smaller spiders will.

However in both cases the armor doesn't really degrade that fast, still much slower than it would off-assignment.
Tiles. Give them a use!

Not quite correct. Only 1 of those cases degrades slow, as I have seen numbers of ~0.1% after a Slayer task, while at Araxxor, my armour has degraded 49.7% after 50 hours of use or ~1% per hour. The actual degrading is probably close to 0.7-0.8% per Reaper task. But no one stops after they finish their Reaper task until their extended Aura runs out...

The degrade cost for Reaper tasks is much more significant than on Slayer tasks, especially if players use them on tasks that aren't that profitable. One thing to also consider is that Jagex has heavily nerfed boss drop tables with all those low level junk stone spirits.
Hard -> 3a Range Top (#357), 3a Full Helm (#439), Barrows Dye (#1755)
Elite -> Shadow Dye (#510), Barrows Dye (#680, #1567), 3a Druidic Staff (#969), Sack of Effigies (#972), Ice Dye (#1539)
Master -> Barrows Dye (#480)

I have only used my Custom-fit trimmed masterwork armor set 1 time on a slayer task [while wearing slayer helm] and several times in Elite dungeons [while wearing as a complete set] but I noticed that both my helm and my boots have degraded to 60% while the other three pieces remain at 99.9%. Is this some kind of glitch or do the extremity pieces degrade in Elite dungeons if death occurs?

Araxxor doesn’t count as the reaper task since the task is for Araxxi, so the armor will degrade during p1-3.

Pretty sure they would degrade on death if not protected or claimed from death.

I've only used for elite dungeons, and only caveat for its use there is that weebs and bronies want you to hit their inv dummy because they made it and want to show you it for cookies and thanks even though you can't phase skip the lasers like day one when it seemed like a reward mechanic, so... don't hit dummies in tmw outside the dungeon, and you cant bring dummies in, so maybe save the nearest miniboss if you wanna start ambassador with full adrenaline.

it aint the end of the world cause you can repair with mw, but... still a pain like you'd have to do a week's mine/smith for every year of usin yer armour.

Nobody can understand a single thing you’re saying. Reading this is similar to how a non English speaker would feel listening to people talking in English.
