How To Start?

To start the Music skill, speak to Harmonica near Draynor prison camp and start quest 1 (posted below). After the quest, you receive a guitar which will be your first musical instrument. You will discover more instruments along the way.

Instruments are made in the Construction skill (string instruments), in the Crafting skill (wind instruments), in Construction skill (furniture instruments like the organ). Materials used to make all instruments come from Woodcutting skill and mining skill.

Higher level materials make higher level instruments. You also need a certain level to use a certain instrument. Lowest level instrument is the oud which is made of normal wood. The highest level instrument is crystal ocarina which is made of pure crystal rock, a rare you can obtain while mining corrupted stones in Prifddinas.

Skill Capes (All credits go to Mega Duck who designed them)

I just came up with an idea that your accordion will be customizable after you got lvl 99.

How To Train?

The Music skill is trained by playing musical instruments and discovering new songs you learn along the way. To learn new songs, you must travel to a various places of Runescape and meet musicians. Each musician has tasks for you just like Slayer Masters. They tell you to visit a place or do a certain activity they did to discover the song they know.

There are two ways to train Music:

A. Fast method (instrument must be equipped):

Similar to the harps in Prifddinas, you have a fixed amount of time until your instrument is out of tune and you have to re-tune it. The rate of XP are different at 20% 50% 80% and 100% out of tune. The lower the out of tune percentage, the more XP you gain.

B. Slow Method (instrument is kept in inventory):

This is the method you use to help your skilling in other skills in the next post. When you use this method, your instrument does not run out of tune as it is only temporarily played. As a result, the Music XP rate is also much slower.

Why Train Music?

Music offers many benefits in every skilling and abilities in combat. Below are some benefits of training Music I could come up with. I will add more in the future as I have more ideas and get more suggestions.

In Fishing:

Music is used to lure fish and give you higher chance of catching fish. The higher your Music level, the longer the lure affect lasts and the higher level the fish you can catch.
In Hunting

Music is also used in Hunting to lure games to your traps. Similar to Fishing, the higher your Music level, the longer your lure affect lasts and the higher level the games you can lure. In addition, you can use music to attract implings. No more running after them ^_^
In Ranged:

Derpy Duck and I had a conversation in game about Music + Ranged. We thought about upgrading the T80 Attuned Crystal Bow to T85 Elegy Crystal Bow. It would shoot sound waves instead of arrows or its own ammo. We got the idea from the "musical bow," a type of musical instruments in Africa.
In Divination

Music is used in Divination to increase the appearance of Chronicles because it can wake up Guthix's memories. The higher your music level, the longer the affect and the higher the chance.
In Construction

Your instruments run out of tune when you play them. That means you need to re-tune them. Re-tuning an instrument grants you Construction XP! You can have 28 instruments that are out of tune in your inventory at once and re-tune them all for Construction XP.
In Farming (fast method)

You can stand next to your plant and play music to stimulate the growth rate. The higher your instrument level, the faster the growth rate.

In prayer

I dedicated a whole post for Prayer because I saw how much Music can relate to Prayer.

In Prayer, playing an instrument while training gives bonus XP. Together with a required level in Prayer, you can use music to call for god's help during combat. Each god's help has a unique affect. In order to call a god to your aid, you must have defeated his or her general once
alone
and you must also follow his or her faction and have an instrument specifically used to call for his or her help.

Armadyl's help:
Deathbringers From The Sky. Summons two aviansies of combat level same to those in the GWD1. The type of aviansies you can summon depends on your Slayer level. The aviansies stay with you ninety seconds in combat. During this time, they will attack the monsters that are attacking you besides your main target. The monsters will attack the aviansies instead of you.

Bandos' help:
Thunder Strikes. Briefly summon General Graador to combat. He strikes your main target twice with the same power he would do to you in the GWD and disappears.

Zamorak's help:
Fireball Rain. Fireballs rain down from above and cover area of two conscutive squares around you in all directions. Imagine you use tornado ability with a halberd or Dragon Rider lance.

Saradomin's help:
Divine Light. Temporarily blind your opponent for three seconds. During this time, your opponent cannot attack you. All abilities you use have max affect.

All god's help abilities use 50% of your adrenaline.

War Drum ability

A war drummer in a team. When he plays, he creates a domed area and everyone in the dome will receive a buff in adrenaline restore rate. Of course, two domes cannot intercept one another. The player who has his war dome ability activated must equip his drum. As a result, he cannot fight.

More Ideas

Accuracy boost:
If burning logs gives HP boost, playing music temporarily boosts your accuracy. The higher the level of the instrument you can play, the longer the boost last.
Music City:
After a player has mentioned that he did not like Prifddinas to be the requirement of the highest level musical instrument - the crystal Ocarina, I have a suggestion of making Ashdale, an abandoned city the music city.
Instrument box
To save bank space :)
Corrupted bars
Instead of always disappearing, there is a rare chance that you get a corrupted bar while training smithing in Prifddinas with corrupted ores. Corrupted bars are hammered until they become crystal sheets which in turn used to make Crystal Ocarinas.
Violin Crossbow
This weapon requires no ammunition and can be upgraded just like the ore box from mining.

List of Instruments

I have completed the list of instruments. They are divided into 2catergories: wind instrument and string instrument. Players unlock a new instrument every 10 levels. String instruments start at lvl 1 and wind instruments start at lvl 5.

String Instruments:
String instruments are made in the Construction skill. Materials needed are wood and regular bowstrings.

Wooden Guitar (made of normal wood)
Banjo (made of Oak)
Harp (Made of Willow)
Lyre (Made of Maple)
Violin (Made of Yew)
Viola (Made of Yew)
Cello (Made of Yew)
Giant Violin (Made of Yew)
Santra (Made of Magic logs)
Saviola (Made of Elder logs)

Wind Instruments:
Wind instruments are made in the Crafting skill. I've decided to so the going-to-be low level ores in the smithing skill a favor so their prices wont drop when smithing rework comes out. Materials used to make wind instruments are metal sheets. Metal sheets are metal bars bashed into the thinnest layer.

Flute (bronze sheets)
Harmonica (iron sheets)
Clarinet (steel sheets)
Trumpet (mithril sheets)
Tuba (adamant sheets)
Accordion (Wooden frame and adamant sheets)
Ocarina (Rune sheets)
Blessed Ocarina (rune sheets and used on a god altar to become blessed.
Blessed Ocarinas are used in combat. Please read the post about combat abilities and music on page 1 for more info
.)
Crystal Ocarina (crystal sheets made from corrupted bars in Prifddinas)
Attuned Crystal Ocarina (combine a rare Seed of Golden Melodies with a crystal ocarina)
