@ PapaJon - The above post goes for your last two reports as well.:
Locutus said:

The "bait" on those posts is minor and it is best if you just ignore it. (And ignoring does not mean posting "Flame bait ignored." as you did in response to one of the posts that your reported. It means not reacting to the bait in any way.)

@ Team Skull
- Thank you. Those particular posts do not require any moderator intervention, at this time. As both of those threads are of interest to the F Mod team, we do keep an eye on them and will take action if we determine it is needed.

@ CuddleBucket
- There is no way for the F Mod team to be able to identify who edited a user's signature, other than going through your profile to look for messages on every thread you have posted on recently.

As far as your proposed signature, it is essentially protesting action taken by moderation on your threads and account. Your forum signature is not the appropriate place to do that. There is the Forum Moderation Review V2. to contest actions taken by F Mods, and information in the Forum Offence System thread on how to appeal forum offenses.

@ Dong U Dead - Yes, it would have been nice if the list of previous thread holders had been included, but not doing so is not breaking any of the Forum Rules.

You had already rectified the omission before you posted here, so there really is no need for moderator intervention in this situation.

If it's just a general observation, that is not really what this thread is used for. However, I can assure you that the F Mod team does its very best to remain impartial when taking moderator actions, and moderates according to the Forum Rules and the guidelines that Jagex has given to us.

@ Ultramega OK - It is not necessary to quote the entirety of each of the offending posts. Just the QFC and page/post #, per the template on the first post of this thread, are all that is needed.

I have posted a request that the clan's invitation template be changed to original and accurate content on a couple of the threads recently affected. I will try to keep an eye on future posts, to ensure the request has been complied with. :)

Do you have a request for an alternate title? "Rain Forest - Social/Skilling" should fit, if that would be ok for you

@ Why Despise - I realize you are frustrated with the way this has been handled, but please be aware there the F Mod team has procedures to follow and only a few tools at their disposal.

Yes, he is posting on several threads at a time. That is what most clan recruiters do. Typically, when there is an issue with a clan recruitment invite, we post to the user on their clan's recruitment thread to increase the chance that the request/warning will be seen. There is only a slim likelihood that he actually will look back at all those LFC threads and see a warning left on them. And to post the warning on all those LFC threads would essentially be spamming them.

In the case of this clan, they do not seem to have a recruitment thread of their own on the Forums, so there is not a good place to leave the warning, beside picking the LFC thread most recently posted on. And actually part of it has gotten through to him, as he has addressed 2 of the 3 issues previously brought to his attention. So hopefully he will get the rest of the message as well. It may just take a bit of patience on your part. :)

@ TabooFantasy - If their 'service' is providing a team, then they are allowed to choose either the "Business and Services" MarketPlace Forum, or the "TeamWork" Forum. Just like an FC that hunts, penguins, evil trees or shooting stars, may choose to use either the "Minigames and D&Ds" Forum or the "Recruitment – Specialist, Questing & Minigames" Forum.

As long as they as not advertising in both, and the forum they have chosen to use is relevant, it's fine.

@ Admiraal JK - This thread is for reporting issues with the forum, not in game issues.

The in-game reporting system does work, if you report the abuse at the time of the incident. That is the only way to provide Jagex with the evidence they need from their own systems to be able to take the necessary action.

The following Support Centre articles should prive useful to you:

- How to report a player

- The "I lost my items due to a scam" section of the Lost Items article in the Support Centre.

- Scamming prevention guide article

As you have also posted your concern on several other unrelated threads, those posts have also been removed.

@Kcin - We will honor your request for the thread lock for this time only. Typically we will only lock a new thread & let the author start over when the reserves have been broken. Your reserves were not broken in this case. It's just that you were not done filling the reserves with content.

As to your other concern, you cannot dictate who can or cannot post on your thread. If other's posts are breaking the Forum Rules, then report them here and the F Mod team will deal with those posts and the poster, per our procedures.

Please remember that the purposes of the forums are for having a discussion - not everyone will agree with your point of view, and the thread allows you to discuss those differences in viewpoint. The key word is to discuss those viewpoints, and it takes both sides to host a successful discussion.

However, over the course of your previous thread, you made several reports here of posts that were not rule breaking, but that you disagreed with or did not like the tone of. Please ensure that your reports here are for actual rule breaking.

However, per your clan thread, it appears you do have entry requirements:

Original message details are unavailable.
We do have requirements to join the clan however; which are:
> Be a paying member of Runescape
> 1800+ total skill level - or - 110+ combat

Based on that, the forum section your thread is currently in is a more appropriate section for your thread, so it has not been moved at this time.

Ms Toxicity said:
As mentioned above by Applejuiceaj on the 9th August, your thread will not be relocated, due to the fact that you have specific skill/combat requirements for your thread.

If the clan's focus changes from combat to more of a social clan, the thread will be moved.

Your clan still has a requirement of "1800+ total skill level - or - 110+ combat", so it cannot be moved to the Recruitment: Social and Community Clans Forum.

Lu k e - Those posts have not been actioned as the thread's author has replied to them , and they fall under the "Reporting Trivial Matters" section of the first post of this thread.

The F Mod Team deals with each report on this thread on a case by case basis, in an impartial manner, following the guidelines that Jagex has provided for us. In most cases, all that is needed is a report that provides the information asked for by the template in the 1st post. Neither editorial comments nor implied threats and attempts at intimidation should be part of your report

If you have concerns over the actions of a Forum Moderator, you may and should use the Forum Moderation Review thread, to request a review of those actions.

It should be able to make its way off the forums naturally. If it turns out that instead of going inactive, it gets gravebumped or spammed, that would be the time to report it.

@ GP FarmerDib - You are frequently reporting the same individual, whom you obviously do not get along with. You should not be using Forum Help as a way of attempting to get revenge or to involve the F Mod Team in your personal vendetta against them. It is also a misuse of Forum Help to report someone for flaming when, even in the quote you used in your report, you are throwing the same insults at them as they used in their reply post to you.

Please reread the first post on how to use this thread, paying particular attention to the following sections from the first post on how to use this thread:

@ Redeveloped - There does not seem to be any word for word copying, rather just a similar style and structure. Nothing about the opening posts for the thread you reported requires F Mod intervention at this time.

When you post content for a clan, that content is considered to belong to that clan, even if you later leave that clan.

Doing a bit of searching, it appears that the clan you were all previously a part of had a split. Both of the new clans seem to have used the thread of the old clan as inspiration and a starting point for developing the threads of the new clan.

In fact, the thread for your clan is a direct copy and paste of the old clan's thread, verified by a cached copy of the old thread on Google. (The link to the application wasn't even changed and still leads back to the old clan's thread.)

Since the old clan still officially exists in the clan database, even though the content has been removed from the thread, it is your thread that would be asked to edit it's content, should one of the remaining members of the original clan request it.

@ FMI - There is no way that F Mods can verify what trades did or did not take place as claimed. Nor can we tell if two identical items were sold to two separate players for the same amount. As the trade posted is not being claimed to be on your behalf, but as the poster being party to the trade, there is not F Mods can do about it.

We would need the seller of the item to post here, if they wish to refute the trade as reported.

@ Dong U Dead - You don't need to repost your request. It hasn't been ignored. However there are a couple of issues regarding the thread itself, which is why your title change request has not been acted on yet.

The first is why is you've created a new thread, rather than use your existing thread at QFC: 23-24-946-65923267.

The second is a concern over whether or not the first image on your opening post qualifies as "safe-for-work", as required by the Code of Conduct. While the actual content of the picture is completely innocent, at a glance it looks like something very different, which would neither be "safe-for-work" nor appropriate for the forums, as I'm sure you are aware. It would certainly cause alarm among any coworkers or bosses who saw it on a forum users screen.

I hope this explains the delay and hesitation in acting upon your request. A determination on those concerns needs to be made before we can follow through on your title change request.

As your thread will max out anyways in one more page, you might consider just starting your new thread in the Business, Services and Miscellaneous Forum, rather than moving a nearly maxed thread.

@ LookItsShawn - I assume you are talking about a clan thread. Ideally, the poster of the original thread should ask for it to be locked. If he is not available to do that, then the current Clan Owner or a Deputy Owner can post here to request that the thread be closed.

Then the clan is free to have the thread reposted by an active member, in the appropriate recruitment forum. (The Clan Home Forum is not used for recruitment threads.)

@ Jokku23 - I'll move the suggestion threads that do not appear to have been completely abandoned, as those contain a lot of work and feedback, and would be difficult to recreate.

The MarketPlace threads should be easy enough for the authors to recreate, if they even still have the items to sell or are still active in game.

Not much point in moving any thread that has been abandoned.

(PS The 'troll' thread is not in a forum that is closing)

@ Always - Just like clans, to be fair to all, each FC should only have one thread open at a time to advertise the services they provide.

For example a clan could do both PvM and social activities, but they may not advertise in both the Recruitment - Social & Community Clans Forum and the Recruitment – 100 Combat and over Forum. They would need to pick which one they would prefer to advertise under, and just use that forum.

Yes, your FC does more than one thing. But there is no reason why you cannot use one thread to advertise both, with a new title such as "Solak Leech" Solak/Elite Dung and some formatting, such as a Table of Contents, to allow potential customers to quickly find the information they are looking for.

If you still have issues with the action taken on your thread, you may use the Forum Moderation Review thread, to ask for a J Mod to review that.

@ Pizzamaru - I have unlocked the thread. For future reference, if you are just using the thread to test your coding, it wouldn't hurt to mention that near the top of the first post.

Once you do have your recruitment thread up and running in the appropriate, it would be a good idea for the author of the thread of the clan that merged with you to make a post on their thread to refer people to your new thread, and then post here to request the old thread be closed.

@ Itnachos11 - Regarding the hidden post - the user edited their original post and changed it to an accusation towards another user, which is not permitted. That is why it was hidden. As mentioned in the reply left, if they had left it as they had originally posted, it would have been fine. The posts that quote what the user originally posted have been left visible. Hope this help you to understand.

However, to answer your question the lance is a two handed melee weapon override. You need to be wielding a two handed melee weapon in order for it to work.

If you need additional assistance with this, please make a thread in the RuneScape Guides and Help Forum.

Please see the Support Centre Security page for links to instructions on securing your account, computer and registered email. If you need additional assistance with that, you may post a thread in the Community Led Account Help Forum to ask for that.

I encourage you to not give up on the game. While Jagex's policy is that they do not return items lost due to account theft, the hijackers cannot steal your skill levels, and therefore you should be able to quickly earn back what you have lost. There is also a link in the article for you to use to provide Jagex with additional information on the hijacking to help them catch the hijacker.

@ strong goku1 - That person was trying to get your account details.

- Jagex will never contact players in-game or via email to offer them moderator status or discuss account issues. That will only be done through the RS Message Center.

- If anyone approaches you claiming to be a Jagex Moderator and does not have a gold crown in front of their name and their name does not start with "Mod", they are not a J Mod and should be reported for Staff Impersonation. The gold crown will show in all forms of chat, public, private and clan chat.

- Do not follow links that you have been given by others to access the RuneScape site. Instead type the address yourself, or use browser bookmarks that you have set yourself.

For future reference, please remember that this thread is for reporting or getting assistance with forum related issues, as outlined in the first post. Thanks

@ Dong U Dead - If the thread that post was made on has not yet fallen off the forums, it is possible to find it with more information, such as the title of the thread it was on, the QFC of the trhead, or which J Mod made the post.

If your friend's account is locked, due to the change in location, the My account is locked article in the Support Centre will help him to get it unlocked.

If there is a ban on the account, the Account Bans article in the Support Centre, discusses what type of bans are appealable and how to do that.

If you or he need additional assistance, it's best if you post a new thread in the Community Led Account Help Forum to explain the situation.

@ Combat Medic - I appreciate that the thread's layout is still similar to yours. However, we have compared both threads section by section, and their content is now different enough from yours that, as Applejuiceaj explained above, "both threads can remain open on the forums without requiring additional changes to their content at this time."

We don't allow plagiarism or copy/pasting one group's thread and just re-labelling it for another, and that is is something that can be seen objectively and action can be taken. Two threads having a similar "look and feel" is a more subjective comparison and not something that Forum Mods can require be changed.

As well, we can only moderate based on what we see on the forums. Events on third party sites are not relevant here.

As the account you are posting from is the one with the security issues, that misrepresented the situation and involved the moderation team into the drama of the FC split, we will not be actioning anymore reports from that account. If an issue arises, please advise the FC owner so he can post here, or post with your own account.

@ NexAod & @NexAodMass - The issues and accusations surrounding the drama between your two FC's is so tangled and convoluted, it is impossible for the moderation team to determine what actually happened and who really is entitled to the content from the old threads. And we have spent quite a bit of time and effort trying to do so.

Therefore, we have decided to go back to a decision the J Mods made a couple years ago when there was a similar situation with a couple of clans:

- The content on the older threads now belongs to Jagex, and will not be available for either group to use.

- Both FC's current threads are now locked.

- Both groups should create their own new and original content for their FC's thread.

- Both group's members should stay off of the other group's thread.

- Both groups should stop mis-using Forum Help to disrupt and get revenge on the other.

@ Vlumondoxa - Regarding the thread you have recently reported here several times, it appears that you misunderstood something the user said, and took it as a personal attack when it does not appear to have been intended that way. Unfortunately, your reply to the perceived attack inflamed the situation. I have hidden your posts that were a result of that misunderstanding. I will lock the thread, once I am sure that the user has gotten the information and understanding that he needs out of it.

I appreciate that when you are posting in the Community Led Account Help Forum, you are trying to help others. The best advice for doing that is to remember that those seeking help in that Forum are already most certainly frustrated, and may be also be panicking, angry, embarrassed, scared of losing their account, ready to give up, or on the verge of exploding. It is important when giving them information or 'bad news' that they do not want to hear, that you consider their feelings and do your best to frame that information in a way which keeps the tension down and is patient and supportive, rather than blaming.

I hope this makes sense. :)

@ YURY - The main concern with bumping is that it not be excessive.

Bumps are only to be used to keep a thread near the front pages of a Forum. Bumping a thread that is already on Page 1 is not necessary and is considered excessive and spam.

It is preferred that a thread author use the bump button to bump his or her thread, rather than making a bump post, as that makes it much easier to find the actual content in a thread without having to weed through all the bump posts.

While bump posts may be used to bump a thread, if that is how the author wishes it to be done, they should not be made more frequently than the use of the bump button would allow, which is once every 10 minutes. More frequently than that is also considered excessive.

@ Aqua Auron0 - Reposting the same reports "hoping another fmod was able to review it at a different time" is F Mod shopping, (which is different than asking for an explanation or clarification) and not something that you should be doing here. Yes, I reviewed each of your individual reports, (except for two which were not on the pages you stated they were on, and the post you linked them do was a totally different post).

Again, if you have issues with the moderation that has already taken place on that thread, the Forum Moderation Review thread is the place to express that.

@ H iman & Harvnation - This thread is not to be used to argue about or protest another poster's reports. There is certainly no need to report posts that are made on this thread as they will all be seen and investigated by an F Mod, usually before any post reporting them will be seen.

As far as the price reports are concerned, just because one players ranges differ from another, that does not make either of them spam or rule breaking. If you don't like someone's ranges, you can state a conflict or choose to ignore them. What is rule breaking is using the price check threads to flame or make accusations/insinuations about other posters.

CM Nick's recent post on another price status thread, applies to all of them:

Okay, I've hidden some more off-topic posts, and I'd just like to say something here...

When it all comes down to it, even though we are obviously invested in fostering a safe place for Item Discussion and price checking -
Trusting prices listed on the forums is always done so at your own risk.

Let me be clear - price manipulation is not in the spirit of the community, nor is it what this forum is for, and it is not tolerated or encouraged by any means! Price manipulation goes against the spirit of the community, and especially the spirit of these threads!

HOWEVER, objectively determining if someone is actually price manipulating is a time-consuming and often fruitless process, and is not something that FMods or even CMs are tasked with doing.

It has become enough of a task for the Mod team to just keep this thread in check in regards to keeping it on-topic these days, and as you know, there is a dedicated thread for issues of price manipulation and - say what you want to about its effectiveness - that IS the official channel to use for these sorts of situations, and you all should know enough not to bring accusations into ID threads.

Posting accusations and the like in this thread is just more derailment, creates more work for the moderation team, and ultimately doesn't solve anything aside from getting pages of posts hidden.

Please, going forward, I'd love if the users on this thread could act in good faith and work together in the interest of the community and to keep the personal arguments and price manipulation accusations out of this thread.

Thank you!

@ Tophurious - We do our best to protect an author's thread from rule breakers. However, there are times when a topic get so heated or overwhelmed that there are more hidden posts than discussion posts. When that happens, it is often better to lock the thread, and possibly (determined on a case by case basis) allow the author to repost a fresh thread.

If you have concerns over the actions of an F Mod, those are best addressed in the Forum Moderation Review thread.

@ RAVER_1 - It looks like you may be logging into Old School RuneScape. Your stats are in the current RuneScape (RS3) version of the game.

While Old School RuneScape is based on a backup of the game files from 2007, it is a separate game that was released in 2013. Everyone starts from scratch in that version. See the Dude... where's my stats? article in the Support Centre for additional information on that.

Please note that this thread, as explained in the first post, is for getting assistance with forum related issues. For game related issues, you should post your own thread in the relevant forum for the topic.

@ Imbasketball - You are not being ignored. Unfortunately, many of the posts that you perceive as harassment or flaming do not qualify as that under our guidelines, nor are they actually breaking any of the forum rules.

Yes, the user likes to debate and his style of posts can come across as aggressive or annoying, but they are not rule breaking. The F Mod team can and does take action, if you report posts that are rule breaking. However, we cannot and will not take action on someone's posts, just because you don't like them.

The best advice is that while these forums do not have an ignore feature, you can use your own mental ignore button, if you find that another user's posts irritate you. If you see their name, just ignore their posts and don't read or respond to them.

@ Harvnation - That post has now been edited to provide more clarity.

Yes, you do have the same posting rights. You are more than welcome to post what you believe are the current price ranges, without having to mention that it conflicts with the prices others have posted. Anyone using the thread for price research will see that the ranges don't agree and can make up their own minds as to which ranges they think are more accurate.

If you do decide to point out a conflict, just make sure that you are following your own advice to "post criticism in a way as to not direct it at certain players, but rather address it so community can view it impartially."

@ iTimmeh - Your thread was locked because the MarketPlace Forums have a limit of 4 active threads per user, and you had 5 active threads in the forum at that time. In choosing which of your threads to lock, it was decided to choose the thread for items that were also included in one of your other threads, so as to have the smallest possible impact on your advertised trades.

The users you have reported above, while yes, some of their threads have overlap in their items advertised, do not have more than 4 threads currently active, and therefore no moderator action is required at this time.

Hope this clarifies things.

It's become very difficult to manage and take action against price manipulations and therefor we should no longer treat the forums as a source of truth and we advise everyone to do their own research before participating in discontinued and/or high value items.

@ Goldberry - A thread maxes out when it reaches the end of Page 200 (2000 posts). At that time no further posts can be made on it.

Most clans start making a new thread when their current thread is a couple of pages away from that so that they may make posts on the old thread that give out the QFC of the new thread.

The maxed thread does not need to be locked, but some clans prefer to have a padlock placed on their maxed threads to make it easier to spot the new thread when doing a thread search. If you wish the old thread to be locked once you new one is made, you may use this thread to request that.

However, the acccount you are posting here with has stats are in the current RuneScape (RS3) version of the game.

@ NonMax Jake - Regarding the post containing information from this thread, I can only guess why it was not actioned.

It appears that by the time your report was reviewed, the discussion on the thread had progressed. By that time, it would have been unproductive and frivolous to interrupt the discussion to hide a post by a user mentioning that you thought the thread was going off topic, and quote the relevant portion of that post later on down the page, when in the post after the one that you wished to be removed, you stated the very same thing that you wanted the F Mods to remove.

If you'd like your name removed from the post, you can simply make a polite request on the thread for the OP to remove it. Usually that is all it takes.

If you have done that, and the OP has not honored your request within a reasonable amount of time, then the F Mods can get involved.

The first post you were wondering about is listed under 'not needing a vial' on the new thread, (but not using the poster's full name).

I assume the 2nd post, the one I made, was not included, because I was responding to your question about what potion was needed, rather than if a vial was needed or not. (A "maybe" answer doesn't help the wiki anymore than an "I don't know" answer does.)

My take on it is that the post may have been an attempt to derail, but even if it was, it appears to be a one-off, rather than a pattern of attempted derailing posts. Ultimately, the discussion was not derailed and continued on. At this point, F Mod intervention would be more likely to disrupt the discussion, than that one post.

@ Jeremy Cheng - Those types of threads (red paperclip), provided they are not begging, have always been allowed on the forums. They are not scamming, because the user is not claiming that the two items are of equal value.

These threads have usually been posted either in the MarketPlace to advertise what they are trading, or in Goals & Achievements, to record the progression. OSRS does not have a separate G&A forum, so G&A type threads are placed in the Old School RuneScape General Forum.

@ Jeremy Cheng - It's off topic for this thread, but "trade up" exchanges are often referred to as "red paperclip" trades, due to a person who journaled/blogged about his (real life) trade ups, starting from a red paperclip and ending with a house.

@ iuorj - As long as you're still working on it, it's fine.

Most posters find that if they are making a long thread with several posts, it works best to organize it in a word processing program first. Then just copy & paste that into the posts, so that the thread is not sitting empty of content for too long. That also helps you figure out how many posts you might actually need so that you know how many reserve posts to make.
