Hello everyone!

A few of you have been wondering who I am, and why there's a new LMod, so I figured a proper introduction was in order!

As some of you may, or may not know, CM Neriphyra has moved on to the next chaper in her professional career, and as such, it was time for a new LMod to fill her shoes.

As a long-time RS player, when I heard that there was an opening to be an LMod with Jagex. I simply couldn't turn down the opportunity. It's been a life-long dream of mine to work alongside all of the JMods. This is incredibly exciting for me!

Over the past few weeks, CM Nick has trained me, and gotten me up to speed on how everything works on the forums. I look forward to working closely with him, and all the FMods, some of which I've already had the pleasure of meeting!

So, you may be wondering, who am I?

Well, my name is Brandon, I'm a 25 year old dude who's been playing RuneScape for going on 14 years now. I mostly play RS3 on my maxed main, where I'm working towards 120 Slayer/Comp Cape. Hoping acheive that within the next couple of months! I do however also play OSRS where I like to call myself a PKer and throw myself into the wild to lose everything I have. :P I'm working towards becoming a maxed 1 def pure.

Here's a lil Q&A about me if you're curious:

Favorite Food: Veggie pizza with dairy-free cheese
Favorite Music Genres: Ska, Punk, Metal, and some EDM.
Favorite Bands: A Day to Remember, Rancid or Linkin Park
Favorite Color: Blue
Favorite Sport: Hockey
Favorite Movie Series: Lord of the Rings!
Favorite Game Series: The Legend of Zelda

I hope this has broken the ice a little bit.

I look forward to working closely with the community, and will do my best to help you all out when needed, and if I can't, I'll certainly try to point you in the right direction.

With that said, if you have any questions, let me know!

See you around! :)

Thank you for the warm welcome everyone! :)

To answer some of your questions:

- Dairy free cheese... So thats plastic?

Lol, some dairy-free cheeses are basically plastic. Some non-plastic-y brands that are delicious are Chao, Earth Island, or Miyoko's. Avoid Daiya at all costs, it's nasty, and a bad example of dairy-free cheese.

- Have you posted on the forums prior to becoming a Lmod?

Yes! I've posted on the forums quite a lot on my personal accounts. Lots of posts on social threads, buying/selling things, a few posts looking for clans, clan thread bumps, etc.. :P

- How do we know brandon has really been playing for 14 years?

I mean, you can try quizzing me, but I don't know everything of course, haha. I think the first holiday item that I've got was the Rubber Chicken. WHACK! - I'd need to speak with Hans and see how far off I am from the 15 year cape though.

Hope everyone's having a nice weekend :)

Thanks again for the welcome guys :)

Turns out that I don't remember the password to my original account anymore, so I'll need to go through the recovery process for it. The account I play on nowadays was my "skiller" which then became a range/mage tank for PKing, and then my maxed main.

Since it's not my first account, it's of course not as old as the first one I created, but this one is about 12 years old, haha. Took a screenshot from Hans as requested ;p

@Miu: Agreed! Daiya has it's good uses, but I avoid it if I can, and yeah, Chao melts kinda weird. A pizza chain in Canada, Pizza Pizza has some dairy-free cheese, it melts like cheese but it's very sticky/only tastes good when it's just delivered. Once it cools down it's kinda gross. I'll need to check out Follow Your Hearts' stuff sometime!

@J Seinfeld: LOL, we don't die, we're just reincarnated.

I've played on my CM account a little bit, but feel like doing so is just more XP waste. Gotta continue working on 120 slayer on my main. :P

@Chief: That's awesome! Yeah that's the best way to do it.. by easing into it. If you try to go all-in outta nowhere, it usually doesn't stick/you'll crave certain things. If you slowly cut things outta your diet, it becomes much easier!

@NijiNekoKama: Thank you!! I'm certainly enjoying my time as a CM with Jagex so far! Still hoping for that eventual gold crown! Hehe :) See you around!

Is there a certain amount of time you're supposed to spend specifically on forum activities on a daily or weekly basis? Does reading count, or do you have other activity quotas to meet?

Well, since I'm a contractor with Jagex, I work a normal week, where a great chunk of my time is spent working with Jagex, while the rest of my time is dedicated to my other engagements. I can't really go into detail on what my other engagements are due to NDA/confidentiality-reasons, but in addition to working on the CM team, I'm also a Team Lead in the Player Support department for the company that I'm employed with. (You can find a bit more info on that here.)

But as for CM Nick and I's activities, we don't particularly have a quota for how much we're supposed to post, but rather do our best to engage with the community while moderating these forums, documenting suggestions, feedback, issues (technical issues/bugs/other) or noteworthy discussions that we believe deserve should be escalated to the appropriate JMod departments, etc. We read through all forum threads. There's some other back-end responsibilities that we have, but we don't have much liberty in discussing what those are due to the NDA I mentioned.

While I'm still quite new to the CM team, I'm always thinking about what I can do to improve engagement on the forums, and everyone's experience in RS/OSRS overall. :)

Hey Jullian, thanks for the welcome!

I don't receive any benefits other than getting the chance to be contracted with the company that I dreamed of working for as a kid, haha. :)

I mean, this CM account has free membership, so if I really wanted to, I could play on this as an alt without having to pay for membs. :P

Oh that's dope!
Wish i could work for my Jagex as it was my dream to work over there but the problem i have is, I'm welding pipes XD

Haha! Well, fresh outta school, I started working in a warehouse as a forklift operator. It paid quite decent, but when I got fed up with that type of environment, I applied at Keywords, where I've been for the past 4 years. I worked worked as an FQA & Compliance tester, then moved on over to the Player Support department where I started to spearhead various projects. Really lucked out a few months back when I saw there was an open spot to work with Jagex! :P

I had no prior work experience in the gaming industry minus programming for fun in my off time. It's never too late to give it a shot!
