I know they used to. Apparently it's 'too difficult' for them now (except for Allstar & Lyon, who still post surprisingly often).

Sometimes (but far from always) a JMod might leave a response or two on a stickied thread announcing this or that.

Any others - I am of the belief that the rare JMod posts are a result of someone else 'poking' them via Twitter, or Reddit, or in a FC. Not because they were browsing the RSOF themselves.

I'm assuming the new CMods will act as browsers and contact a JMod if they see anything relevant on the forums which they feel warrants a JMod visit, or attention.

I don't think so. I have seen many Jmods commenting on topics in their chartered areas.

For instance, Mod Rowley on Player Owned Farm...

I don't think anybody "poked" him via Twitter, Reddit or a FC. :)

Rest assured, I don't think any of these Jmods are going to comment on threads like "I am wrongfully banned for botting..." ;)

It is mostly about what the threads are about. Some topics probably will never get a response from a Jmod.

I'd expect Rowley to read forums, and everywhere else, in connection with a new update where he was one of the main Developers (or, indeed, any other JMod checking up on their latest baby). Prior to PoF he wasn't what I'd call particularly active here. However, I don't want to single out any one JMod for praise or criticism, since that is unfair.

Fairly obviously, I'm not referring to JMods visiting idiot threads.

My comments are based on the amount of interaction that used to occur on the RSOF, not all of it strictly business-like; JMods of yore often used to drop into threads and simply join in, it was obvious they were browsing and not necessarily only for strictly feedback purposes.

I'm not particularly bothered by the ways things are now, it was an inevitable paradigm shift given the rise of social media platforms.

I daresay CMods have noticed this already, but I for one would be immensely pleased if they brought it to the attention of Jagex:

The habit Jagex are developing of not conveying important information on the RSOF but only on third party sites is becoming a bone of contention.
