The RS website and RSOF are not mobile friendly.

If you look in the top right, your "sign in" button is squished too tightly to the "play now" button.

Can one of those 2 buttons be moved? Or resized?

..ok fine.

In reality, making changes to those buttons requires a reorganising of the whole header, and involves much more discussion that just "lets move it left / right a bit".

Its something all of the web team wants, rest assured of that :)

As far as the "Play now" button being easy to misclick, I think it can be worked around but the buttons to the left of it are out of luck.

However, focusing exclusively on this one problem, I'd propose:

Change "Play Now" to "Sign In". The functionality of "playnow" will be moved to "Download", which will either do the play now flow or link straight to the client download page, because I personally don't think people ever use the playnow button apart from to actually download the game since the default download link is hidden. Who opens the rs homepage when they could just click on their desktop?

Repurpose the news link, either place "forums" where news is, adding news to the community drop down. Or place the forums into the community link, and make it the default option. The current default option is just to go back to the homepage, the RS icon already does this.

Kill the existing sign out button

Et voila

GL with other localisations though ¯\_(;.;)_/¯

I pictured most use the downloaded client instead of the play now in browsers by now.

So I never had a use for the giant play now button. Would be nice if it was swapped with game guide's spot or such.

The play now button can actually open the client for you if your browser will let it, you'll probably get an option to open runescape when you go on that page once the client is installed, and can allow the browser to even automatically open RS if a webpage requests it to. I'm thinking the idea was to help people who had a habit of coming to the site to launch the game, but I doubt anyone still has that habit these days.
