No harm, no foul. Where to move a thread to won't hurt you much.

But if somebody keeps finding the smallest excuse to pick a fight and hurt your enjoyment of the forum, or even threaten you, then it is the real issue that absolutely can't be ignored.

As you have come across time and time again throughout RSOF and Forum help is full of it, it starts of as a minor, and it grows and grows and grows even more - people don't like being called stupid, silly, retard etc - people don't like it at all - it needs to be removed, otherwise the forums will not change.

Words like "stupid", "silly" etc don't hurt. Retard is a little bit cross the line. However, repeatedly calling people "stupid" or "silly" should be warned if you can show this person (these people) really pick on you. However, you should tolerate them for the first few times.

Yet what if they (general they here) are, indeed, being stupid and/or silly? I should have every prerogative to say so.

No, that's your perception of the matter.

That's cool.

You still haven't disproven my point.

I doubt it you could or can go around in your work place calling people silly, stupid or even retard without being addressed by a higher staff member.

You've never been in the back room of a warehouse, have you? But, that's besides the point.

Point is: You still haven't come up with a counterpoint as to why I can't say to someone on the forums that they're being silly/stupid if they are, indeed, being silly and/or stupid.

Now are you actually going to come up with an argument or...?

If you apply such words to specific person on specific topic then it is not really a big problem since you just express your disagreement on such issue. But when you have to say "in general", then they are inappropriate in the forums since you are not applying those words to specific topic of discussion, but you are attacking the user in general.

Suppose User A points to a dog and say "this is a cat" in thread 1, certainly User B can say "hey A, you are stupid! This is obviously a dog". However, If A goes onto thread 2 and say "this black cat is a black cat" but B goes there and repeat the same "hey A, you are stupid (in general) even though this black cat is indeed a black cat". Then obviously, it is not right.

You misread. I added "general they" as some people can get rather...uppity and think it's about them when it's not.

In other words, it's a non-specific "they" to be added to a specific context.

FH has, over the last month (?), really become something to behold.

It's like a kiddies' playground, with supposed adults besieging it with cries of "Dat nastyboi was a meaniepantz to me".

So much for the previous CM team's (probably well-meaning) attempts to create a new, more relaxed, adult forum environment. It seems to have turned into something of a trainwreck.

I know, right? It's become fucking pathetic. Can't be fuckin' honest with people anymore without it being seen as an attack.

"Waaaaaaah moddy mod meanie meanie said a mean thing about me even though it's true! PLEASE REMOVE THE COMMENT NOW OR I RAGE!!!!!! :cccccccccccccc"

FH is really just being used as sociopolitical leverage nowadays with nothing being done about it. Sad, really.
