Hello everyone, welcome to my thread.

There is currently a forum rule against people posting content that is either irrelevant or off-topic to the thread. Such posts are reportable to Forum Help, and will be hidden by Forum Mods. I am happy with this rule as it is, and feel that it does not require tweaking or relaxing.

However,

I have witnessed, on occasion, a Forum Moderator, either willfully or inadvertently, post to derail and take a thread off-topic, and I have yet to see any Jmod take action against the Forum Moderator for such actions.

Forum Moderators not above the rules, and should be subject to the same sanctions as regular forumers if they break these rules.

Therefore, so as to make the situation consistent with regular forumers' posts being reported to Forum Help, my proposal is for any off-topic or derailing posts by Forum Moderators to be reportable to Forum Moderation Review, where a Jmod can take action if necessary. With FMR currently being reviewed regularly, any action taken will be in a timely manner.

Do feel free to provide any ideas for improvement, or any new measures to improve the consistency of the rules.

There's some great folks on the team. But yeah.. the one spoiled apple etc etc.

Player voluntary staff is a long outdated concept, not only from inside RuneScape. But alas, as I repeat like a broken record, nothing will ever change. There's no employed department to focus on the community management that truly for a lack of better words and put blatantly.. cares.

To clarify, there's also some great employees. But there's bigger priorities and there's truly no incentive, especially for those with the power, to change what's been left alone as well-enough for so many years.

But, who cares what I think. I'm just another player.

I believe they already are - to the best of my knowledge, ANY poor behaviour by an FMod can be posted to FMR.

I would recommend stating that you are reporting because you feel the reported action is setting a bad example to other players. (Yes, I have done this myself in the past, and yes, Mod Meadows said he would take it up with the FMod concerned).

Just to reasure you all here that when a F-Mod does mess up and yes it does happen then He/She has help and advice from Jagex.

As Arch says if you feel Jagex should know about an issue or issues then Review thread would be the best option. I have had a post or 2 removed by Jagex last year. I don't mind as that proves to Me and the Community that F-Mods are not above the rules.

I think thats all I can say. ;)

I will say this as it's just popped into my head. Please remember F-Mods are Players first and we also like to have fun. At times it may not seem that way as our posts will always be Green. We can't change that even though it's been asked for for years. We need to chill and chat too. ;)

Meadows made some changes last year that I strongly approve of, particularly with regards to the Forum Moderation Review thread. So I do believe that there is potential for positive change.

You can? I was under the impression that FMR was only for incorrect moderation, and not for saying off-topic or distasteful things.

Hmm. There wouldn't be a point to me reporting what I saw several days ago, given that the threads it took place on are already buried several pages deep in the subforums they're in.
