I think the biggest example of spite voting is when there was a poll for making bear head helmet easier to re-obtain if you haven't finished the quest, or obtaining multiples, something like that. It would have been a nice QoL update, but bias against pures meant this little change never made it into the game.

While Jagex has a lot of bad ideas for the wilderness that legitimately don't deserve to go into the game, there's also a lot of good ones that don't get voted in due to a small, but not insignificant part of the community that has a distaste for any pvp-centered change.

A smaller, and very insignificant part of the community likes to attribute any failed pvp change to spite voting, however.

You forgot to mention something else. This community's highly self-centered and only cares about themself. Ironmen deal with spite voting too. The only difference is that they're backed up by the massive PvM community who would gladly support busted drop tables for the reason listed above.

It's such a shame skillers and pvp pures can't band together and spite vote against overpowered drop tables that ruin skilling profit.

yes
spite voting happens

take for example: divine spirit shield original poll
next to everyone: wont vote for it just will be a green ely

recent divine poll:
alot people pointless content.... adds nothing to game.... meaningless drop...
most the people who voted no had no corp kills and didnt plain on killing corp

alot people i seen say voted yes did it for streamer content/ wanted to hunt it from corp..
(small % wanted to make pray tanks)

divine spirit shields effect on game was kinda made clear by a lot source being...
next to no effect

as people pray flick now back when we used divine we didnt pray flick
we had yaks for pray potions and pray renewals (we dont even have a restore pray over time potions) wildy pray tanks tended to rely on summons (we dont have summons)

most effect it would had was easy divine spirit shield smites in pvp
(as pray flicking is req for most long boss trips and divine would eat pray making trips actually shorter then if you flicked pray without it)

based on whats said about it dont think divine would took much dev time might already been done to most part and would have no effect on game

and from asking around at time of last divine repoll people went out their way to vote no on it (some day my shiny divine spirit shield might see day of light in osrs)

honestly my motto is vote yes if its op it surely will be nerf'd later

Pretty much everything in this post is wrong.

like wow... everything you said dib is false...

so lets look at the d stones, you claim since they had a wildy chest it made d stones crash, false, dragonstones were a rare drop from the chest, while the trav chest was 100% chance on a stone, so again you are wrong dib.

and also why would someone risk going that far into the wild to open a chest that is worst than the one in trav... like wtf kind of logic is that dib.

its interesting how you seem to defend botting dib

This is extra hilarious since I recall dib making some nonsensical claims about dragonstone in the past and the conversation pretty much went the exact same way.

Anyway, dragonstones are definitely brought into the game primarily through pvm. Or indirectly through crystal key halves that are found through combat.
