Hi all,

Shauny's asked me to write a bit of an introduction as part of this post, given that it's my first communication with you. So, I'm Mod Kylar - no points if you Google the reference there.

I've been playing RuneScape on and off since 2005, so I'm coming into the company with quite a large awareness of how the game has changed and evolved over the years. As a player, most of my time has been spent working towards personal goals - all 99s in one day (I managed 25 at RuneFest), Master Quest Cape, and currently (slowly) working towards comp.

I've been given the lucky opportunity of working on the Quest Point Shop [working title] as my first project here at Jagex. As a Master Quest Cape owner myself, this is an area of RuneScape that I'm very passionate about, and so I want to make sure this update is as amazing as it can be.

To do that, I want your help. This project is still in the early stages of development, so now is the perfect time to get your input into it and help shape it into something that you'll feel excited and rewarded by.
Some of the questions I have for you right now are:

- What are the top things (up to three) that make you want to do a quest?
- What are the top things (up to three) that discourage you from completing a quest?
- What sort of rewards would you like from the Quest Point Shop?
- One of the things we've been discussing in the studio is whether or not someone with max Quest Points should be able to unlock everything on release? Alternatively, should they have to decide which rewards they value the most, and only be able to unlock further rewards as more quests are released. I'd love to hear how you feel about this, and get a bit of a dialogue going.

In order to help me to make the most of your feedback, and try to design this project with as many players in mind as possible, I'd really appreciate if you could include the following information in your posts.

- What type of player are you? (PvM, PvP, Quester, Skiller, Completionist, Social) (You can choose more than one)
- What is your current number of quest points?
- How long have you been playing RuneScape?
- What are your combat level and skill total?

I'm looking forward to working with you guys on this!

One of the the rewards should be additional free bank-space.

Quests introduce plenty of new items as well as unlocking areas that contain a large number of items. These bank spaces should be available on release as I'm not sure scaling them out is necessary.

For some context about me:

- I participate and take interests in every category mentioned.
- I have 399 Quest Points (400 when?)
- I've played Runescape for 11 years.
- I'm maxed with 120 DG, 120 Invention, 117 Slayer.

Hello there! Nice to meet you,Mod Kylar!

I kinda like the idea of not being able to unlock it all on release, but at the same time, i wouldn't enjoy not being able to grind it for other rewards, and forced to wait for more quests to come out, maybe a alternate to that, allow us to re-do some quests in order to grind out more reward shop points( Of-course at a lesser reward than first time doing it)

There were times when end game, best in slot items were locked behind quests rather than just purchased.

I would like to see this return to some extent in the form of the Quest Point Shop, or as a reward from quests themselves.

Things like these should be tough and difficult to get, and not just bought off of the GE. It would carry a lot more prestige and feel like a true achievement once someone has worked towards and earned it.

Regarding me, I mostly PvM and PvP. Don't really like questing but I like the feeling of getting them done and it feels like earning an achievement.

Been playing for over 10 years, 138 cb, nearly 2.7k skill total. 340+ quest points.

I personally think that a Quest reward shop should be released. Having to re-complete quests for points would be an awesome feature to the game since you only do the quests once. (excluding sliskes endgame and dimension of disaster.) Having the points scale to the difficulty of the quest (i.e. 100 points from sliskes endgame, 5 from cooks assistant) would be a nice addition to encourage people to go for the harder quests rather than grind easy quests for points.

What are the top things (up to three) that make you want to do a quest?
-Skilling rewards (like urn enhancer from nomads elegy, sliskes endgame reward items)
-unlocking new areas (Prifddinas, darkmeyer)

What are the top things (up to three) that discourage you from completing a quest?
-When starting up a new account the skill level requirements on some quests are high compared to their easyness of the quest itself

What sort of rewards would you like from the Quest Point Shop?
-Tears of guthix booster (x amount of points consumed to be x more seconds in the ToG D&D)
-Replayability of quests

What type of player are you? (PvM, PvP, Quester, Skiller, Completionist, Social) (You can choose more than one)
-All but PvP

What is your current number of quest points?
-399 on both of my accounts

How long have you been playing RuneScape?
-5 ish years actively

What are your combat level and skill total?
- 138 and 2736

- What are the top things (up to three) that make you want to do a quest?
I love the challenge of puzzles. Quests like MEP2, The Light Within, Within the Light etc with puzzles that make you really think are great.
- What are the top things (up to three) that discourage you from completing a quest?
Unnecessarily hard combat. I get that PvM is a big part of the game and that's great. Completionist by definition should include end-game/top-tier PvM. However QC and MQC shouldn't require top tier PvM; it would be brilliant to have in game a kudos-worthy cape (other than Max) that didn't require you to be amazing at PvM. <- I have MQC and I guess it's fine at the level it is atm but I really fear Telos or Solak level PvM being in a quest.
- What sort of rewards would you like from the Quest Point Shop?
Love the previously suggested idea of bank space. I think if you have quest cape but ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE MQC you should be able to unlock all on release. Maybe have repeatable rewards for future quests (buy clue scrolls, teleports maybe?)

- What type of player are you?
Quest, skill, completionist (though Solak T_T), social, clues, achievements. Low to mid PvM (ability rather than ambition the preventative factor here!)
- What is your current number of quest points?
399/399
- How long have you been playing RuneScape?
Around 12 years? With a big break in the middle.
- What are your combat level and skill total?
138 and 2736(2946)

What are the top things (up to three) that make you want to do a quest?

comp cape back, rewards, lore

- What are the top things (up to three) that discourage you from completing a quest?

they've all been shit for like close to 2 years, puns/real life nudges, bad rewards

- What sort of rewards would you like from the Quest Point Shop?

bankspace maybe? presets? action bars? Sounds unrealistic so maybe: good cosmetic outfits that tie into the games quests and lore.

Also, if you did all quests you should be able to get all rewards, but it depends on the level of rewards. If it's bankspace etc, it should be like every 50 qp is 10 more space or something.

cosmetic wise, can be "choose", but based on the amount of quests jagex releases and the quality of them, I don't like the idea of waiting until new quests have been released.

- What type of player are you? (PvM, PvP, Quester, Skiller, Completionist, Social) (You can choose more than one)

Completionist and skiller mainly. I dabble in pvm since required for comp, but nothing over the top. I also love quests so probably a quester too? although I think completionist encompasses skiller, quester and pvm.

- What is your current number of quest points?

399, max.

- How long have you been playing RuneScape?

I started playing right after the release of RS2... so..14 years?

- What are your combat level and skill total?

Trim comp btw, 138 cb, 2736 total, 3270 virtual total ( all 120)

P.S. kylar... night angel reference??

I am a Quester.
I have 399 Questpoints.
I have been playing since 2007.
I am maxed in all stats.

1: The Lore. The Theme of the Quest. Maintaining my Master Quest Cape.

2: Nothing. Regardless or not if I like the theme of the Quest I am always willing to bite the bullet and complete a Quest.

3: I want the Helmet of Trials expanded into a full outfit, either cosmetic or functional. Perhaps a Sigil or two also, considering they’re relatively new and there aren’t many of them currently.

4: No. You give us who have maximum Questpoints on release everything. We worked very hard to get to that point and maintain the cape at every release, there is nothing wrong with giving us everything we’ve rightfully earned and it’s certainly not unfair to those who aren’t there yet. It would be to withhold rewards from us..

1) It's a quest 2) Story 3) Keeping QPC (although my desire to keep the cape is a result of my enjoyment of quests, not vice versa).

Nothing will stop me getting a quest done eventually. Sometimes I may need to take a break if something like struggling with combat is causing frustration, but I will come back to it. I aim to complete new quests on release day and usually manage it by the end of the week at the latest.

I don't have any strong opinions here.

I think someone with max QPs should be able to get all items on release, largely because quests are added too slowly. Even if the total cost was as low as 450 QPs it'd take years to get there.
