Head to Treasure Hunter and find protean items that will boost your progress in Crafting, Divination and Smithing and get you ready for the Invention update later this month. Alternatively, you can now convert one kind of protean item to another to tailor the skills you wish to boost – enjoy!
Use your Treasure Hunter keys from 00:00 UTC on the 12th May until 23:59 UTC on the 16th May to find brand new, stackable protean memories, as well as protean hides and protean bars – all the ingredients needed for training the skills required to unlock Invention.
Use a protean memory directly from your backpack for a short animation and a boost of Divination XP. This can be performed anywhere in Gielinor without needing to be at a Rift. You will also be able to find protean memories during the promotion dates by unpacking protean crates!
You can now also convert one kind of protean item into another based on your needs. You will receive two of the requested item for every three that you select for conversion.

What is Treasure Hunter?
Treasure Hunter is playable from within RuneScape, allowing players to use Keys to claim in-game items as prizes. These range from useful resources to rare weapons and exclusive gear.
Playing Treasure Hunter is simple - click the treasure chest icon that pops up when you log in. If you've not played before, just follow the on-screen guide.
Everyone gets at least one Key per day, and RuneScape members get two. You can earn more Keys while playing the game, or stock up by redeeming Bonds.
If you'd like more, you can also buy Keys on the website, or by clicking 'Buy Keys' within the Treasure Hunter interface in-game.
