Bounty Hunter Returns | Gemstone Golem & Rune Ethereal Outfits through Skilling

Bounty Hunter Returns | Gemstone Golem & Rune Ethereal Outfits through Skilling

Hardcore PvP returns to RuneScape – that's right, Bounty Hunter is back, and it's bigger, better-balanced and more rewarding than ever.

Also this week, two much sought-after elite skilling outfits – gemstone golem and rune ethereal – have been made available through regular skill training.

Bounty Hunter Returns

Requirements

RuneScape membership

Level 20 Combat

How to Start

Log into World 97 (Legacy) or World 106 (EoC)

To get started, hop onto a dedicated EoC or Legacy Bounty Hunter world, where you'll be able to access only Edgeville and the Wilderness.

There, you'll be assigned a bounty target: an opponent matched to your level of PKing skill with a newly introduced Elo rating system. After five initial placing matches, you'll find that each target presents a challenge tailor-made to you.

Hunt down your mark and take them out for a chance to earn a bounty emblem. Risk it and go after another target – potentially upgrading it further to increase its value - or cash it out for bounty points.

But beware. Your opponent will be trying to do the same. Plus, you'll need to watch your back for roaming PKers seeking to kill non-targets in downtime between bounties (known as 'rogue killing')!

Trade your points in with Mandrith in Edgeville for a some truly awesome stuff, including brawling gloves, upgrades your ancient armour sets, an amulet that adds an extra effect to Barrows armour, level 87 weapons based on the Crucible weapons – along with their devastating special attacks. Most of Bounty Hunter's rewards are tradeable too, so PKing can mean healthy profits for a skilled killer.

Upping your rating not only pitches you against tougher opponents, but also unlocks ever-more impressive looks for the revenant pet available in the reward shop – imp, goblin, icefiend and pyrefiend. Keep an eye out for more revenant variants in the future, too!

Have fun, and we'll see you in the Wildy!

Elite Skilling Outfits

Requirements

RuneScape membership

To collect fragments

70 Mining and/or Runecrafting

To create outfit pieces

80 Mining and 20 Invention (gemstone golem)

80 Runecrafting and 21 Invention (rune ethereal)

Once you meet the 70 Mining or Runecrafting requirement, you'll be able to collect fragments of the rune ethereal and gemstone golem outfits while training the corresponding skill through any regular method. Success chance increases with your skill level, and fragments will be automatically stored in your currency pouch.

Then, head to the invention workbench and discover a new blueprint, which – for 3600 fragments – will earn you a random piece of one of the base outfit variants.

Note that Ironman players can collect the outfits and enjoy their benefits, but cannot trade pieces with other players.

Rune Ethereals

As before, these pieces can be traded directly with other players for other outfit pieces related to the same skill, and the three base variants of any one outfit piece can be combined into the full piece.

Collect and wear the full sets for some great skilling benefits:

Infinity Ethereal Outfit Magic Golem Outfit
7% chance for double siphoned runes in the Runespan +7% success chance when mining
Free movement between Runespan platforms (level requirement still applies) Living Rock creatures are non-aggressive
50% for rune pouches not to degrade on crafting Imparts the mining benefits of the golden mining suit and Varrock armour, if owned
Five daily teleports to the Runespan yellow wizard and back
Storage of 12 rune or pure essence
Body and legs each grant a weight reduction effect
Imparts Runecrafting benefits of the wicked hood, wicked robes and Morytania legs 2, if owned

The base variant sets (sapphire, emerald and ruby golem, and law, blood and death ethereal) give increased success/doubling chances (although +5% rather than +7%) and the effects of other owned skilling outfits.

Enjoy!
