Welcome to RuneScape Polls

Released every week, the polls are our best chance to receive opinions on the important issues of RuneScape, from those people that really matter: You!

With your help, we can get answers that we could not have received elsewhere. This ranges from those skills you want released, to what made you become a member. These are answers that will help us understand what you want from us, allowing us to change the game to suit your wants and needs.

We really appreciate you taking the time to complete the polls. With your help the polls can change your RuneScape experience for the better.

Don't forget - if you have any poll questions you would like to submit for Player Poll week, then send them to . Hopefully you will see them published in an upcoming week!

Mobile Gaming  (Free/Member)

Gone are the days when mobile devices were only good for playing the odd music track or playing a quick game of hangman. Now these all-singing, all-dancing "smart" mobile devices can access the internet, take pictures, use Sat-Nav, and even run fully-featured games!

In this week’s poll, we’re asking any of our gadget-savvy players out there to tell us about what kind of smart mobile devices they own (if any!) and what their mobile gaming habits are on those devices. So if you have a mobile device that’s so clever it can practically clean the house and make your tea – we want to hear from you!

RuneScape Machinima #2 (24-Feb-2010)

Last week saw the closing of the RuneScape Advert Machinima competition, and so began the difficult task of deciding who the finalists would be. After many sleepless nights and much head-scratching, we finally decided on ten fantastic videos, and we're sure that you'll find it similarly difficult to pick a winner.

That's right, we need you to make the final choice as to who'll be crowned the ultimate winner of ultimate awesomeness, and who our four runners-up will be!

To make your choice, you first need to watch our video showcasing the ten finalists. You can find the video featured in the following location: www.youtube.com/runescape channel. Copy and paste it into your browser to navigate to the page.

You'll notice that each finalist's advert has a number attached to it. Once you've seen all the finalists and decided which one is your favourite, you can then vote by clicking on the corresponding number below. Easy as that!

The poll will run until 3rd March, which gives you plenty of time to ponder the miracle of Machinima before deciding on your favourite entry.

Finally, here's a quick reminder of what prizes are up for grabs:

1st Place - An all-expenses-paid trip to visit the Jagex Games Studio and lifetime membership to RuneScape

4 Runners-up - Lifetime membership to RuneScape

Good luck to the finalists. Let the voting commence!

Guaranteed Content: Recolouring (16-Feb-2010)

If you've played Barbarian Assault recently, you'll know about Commander Connad's offer to recolour any abyssal whips you may have. Well, the offer has proved popular enough for him to expand his enterprise to include another item. The question is: what item to include?

It is up to you to decide which of the items below should have recolouring options. The winning item will receive a similar number of recolouring options as the abyssal whip (roughly four or five) in a future game update. Once the recolouring options are released, you will need to take the relevant item to Commander Connad in Barbarian Assault and pay him a fee. A painted item will be untradeable and will have no effect on its potency in combat. To return the item to its original colour, you will simply need to apply a cleaning cloth to it. The alternative colours for an item will be suitable and not garish (unless the infinity robes are chosen!); so, the dark bow will have 'dark' colour options, for example.

As you may have noticed, we have not featured items made of wood or metal. We are unable to recolour wood or metal, as the strength of these items are determined by their colour: a red 'dragon' armour is more powerful than a blue 'rune' armour, for example. Recolouring these items would confuse players and affect elements of the game like player-vs-player combat.
