Airut are high level Slayer creatures found in the south section of Kuradal's Dungeon, and south-west of Piscatoris Fishing Colony.

Due to their tough hides and dedication to the art of combat, airut are formidable foes with their defence rising as their life points lower.

Airut have two stances: standing on two legs for melee attacks and on all fours for their ranged attack. When not in combat they occasionally switch between their two forms.

During combat the airut will change stance based on the damage type being done to it. If the airut is being damaged most by magic attacks it will switch to ranged, and if being damaged by melee or ranged attacks then it will switch to a melee stance. It will not change instantly, however.

Each stance has two attacks, a standard attack and a special attack. The special attacks are a flurry attack for the melee stance, and a rapid fire attack for the ranged stance. These can be interrupted either while the special is warming up or when it is being deployed with the equivalent ability.

Kuradal, Lapalok and Duradel assign these monsters as Slayer tasks and will ask you to kill 100 - 125 of them at a time.

Players who played this content between December 2nd 2013 and January 6th 2014 were able to take advantage of a 25% bonus to combat and slayer. Players were also more likely to gain Airut as a slayer task and get a higher number to kill (100 to 125).

The airut are a proud warrior race, who resort to chaotic and psychological warfare. When their homeworld was attacked by Tuska, many of them joined her due to the strength that she showed. Throughout the years, as the airut continued to follow Tuska, they became more and more reliant on the symbiotic relationship with the boar god, taking hair dropped by Tuska to form armour and gloves in order to increase their strength. As part of their favour towards psychological warfare, the airut leave the Mark of Tuska stamped on their victims, either as a branding or marks made on the wall.
