Askeladden (although he insists to be called Larravak) is a young boy who aspires to be a Fremennik by passing his "trial of manhood." Although he initially has trouble with the trials, he eventually passed his test to be a Fremennik. Since he passed the trials, he was given his own Fremennik name, Larravak. Askeladden can be found near the entrance to the longhall of Rellekka and on a snowy hill on Waterbirth Island.
On Waterbirth Island, he would buy Dagannoth hides from you. Since Dagonnoths (or as Askeladden calls them "dagger-mouths") are found in the Waterbirth Dungeon, this is an easy way to get rid of Dagonnoth hides from the inventory. Askeladden can buy a keg of beer (which he is far too young to drink) from the player for 500 coins but if the player is part of the Fremennik clan, Askeladden will raise the price up by 200 coins, thus making it 700 coins. Since Dagonnoths can drop kegs of beer, this makes Askeladden a good source of money if the player decides to sell the Dagonnoth hides and kegs of beer to him.
During The Fremennik Trials, the player goes to him after not being able to get the golden fleece from Lalli. Lalli had briefly mentioned Askeladden getting golden fleece so that was why the player went to him. Askeladden tells the player how he got the golden fleece: he gave Lalli a pet rock, claiming that it would be a good watch pet (of course, it was a trick. The pet rock does absolutely nothing). Askeladden gives him/her a pet rock although he is worried that his trick won't work twice on Lalli. The trick nonetheless works and the player is able to obtain the golden fleece. After the quest, the player talks to Askeladden only to be insisted by him to call him by his Fremennik name, Larravak. The player is able to obtain another pet rock from Askeladden.
