The Baneore Cave is where the Stone of Jas was housed following the events of While Guthix Sleeps. It is also the source of the only ore known to be harmful to dragonkin and, due to the magical energies that the Stone of Jas emitted over centuries within the cave, it is also home to enchanted ice creatures known as glacors.
Location
Location of the Baneore cave
The Baneore Cave is found on the southern edge of the icy plateau found to the south of Ghorrock Fortress. A quicker and safer way to reach the cave is by using the Fairy rings with combination "DKQ", which will teleport you straight to the glacor cavern.
Despite their power, glacors are not aggressive so do not worry about being attacked as soon as you teleport in.
Points of Interest
Points of interest
The cave is divided into two chambers: the larger southern chamber where the glacors dwell, and the smaller northern chamber which contains the baneore.
The chamber containing the bane ore can be found in the northern part of the cave. To mine baneore you will need 77 Mining. They can be smithed into bolts and arrows that can be effective against abyssal demons, basilisks, dragons or wallasalki, provided you have the necessary resources to enchant the ore.
Another interesting feature is that, due to residual energy left behind by the Stone of Jas, simply entering this cave will give you a 4-hour combat boost in the regions surrounding the cave. You can read more about this boost here.

Cave Inhabitants
| Glacor (Level 160) |
Enduring glacyte (Level 160) |
|
Glacors are a formidable foe. Be prepared for a tough battle before you approach them. See the article on glacors for battle strategies. |
Glacytes are summoned by their bigger brothers; the glacors. Killing the Enduring glacyte last is not advised as this will give the Glacor a substantial defence buff making you do less damage. For this reason and for generally faster kills it is advised that you kill the Enduring glacyte either first or second. |
| Glacor can be found in the southern section of the cave. |
|
| Sapping glacyte (Level 160) |
Unstable glacyte (Level 160) |
|
Glacytes are summoned by their bigger brothers; the glacors. Every time a Sapping glacyte hit you, you lose 10 prayer points. It is recommended to kill this glacyte first in order to minimise the amount of prayer points lost. |
Glacytes are summoned by their bigger brothers; the glacors. Unstable glacytes have two "health bars". One of them is the normal health bar, and the other is a timer. Once the timer is completely filled, move away! They deal damage equivalent to half your current life points if you are right next to one. |
Miscellaneous
- Glacors drop shards of armadyl. These shards can be ground up using a pestle and mortar to make dust of armadyl. One shard produces 8 lots of dust. Armadyl dust can be used, in combination with pure essence, to make armadyl runes. You need a Runecrafting level of 72 to do this.
- The shards can also make an orb of armadyl if you combine 100 of them. The orb of armadyl is untradeable and is used to make an Armadyl battlestaff. You need a Crafting level of 77 to do this.
- Watch out for other players! The explosions from other players Glacors and Unstable glacytes can damage you, as well as the multi-spike attack.
- Glacors drop some of the best combat boots in the game: Steadfast (melee), Glaiven (ranged), and Ragefire (mage)
