Bloodvelds are a type of Slayer monster which require a Slayer level of 50 to kill. Resembling bloated pigs with long tongues, bloodvelds attack by striking prey with their tongues to drain blood. The attack is classed as magical melee, so players looking to kill bloodvelds with melee should wear magic-resistant armour.

Bloodvelds can be found on the first floor the Slayer Tower, and in a chamber of the Meiyerditch Tunnels alongside the stronger mutated bloodvelds. Stronger bloodvelds can also be found in the God Wars Dungeon where they fight for Zamorak.

Location

There are three locations where you can find enough bloodveld to slay for your task:

• Meiyerditch Tunnels
• God Wars Dungeon
• Slayer Tower

Within the Meiyerditch Tunnels, you may use a Dwarf Multicannon to speed up kills. Mutant bloodvelds can also be found here, and they give more experience if you have bloodvelds as a Slayer assignment.

The God Wars Dungeon is probably not recommended for slaying bloodvelds. As they fight for Zamorak, wearing an item of Zamorak will keep his fighters from bothering you.

Slayer Tower is decidedly the best location for slaying. The tower has over 10 bloodveld spawns and will easily accommodate around 4 people.

Tactics

Bloodvelds attack with melee but their damage is based on magical defense, meaning that if you wear melee armour you will take a lot more damage than someone wearing magic-resistant items. Bloodvelds seem to be weak against slashing or stabbing attacks, so use a good slashing weapon for melee or your preferred ranged weapon for faster kills.

If you can use bunyips or other healing familiars, bring them along with a few pieces of food to heal any damage you might receive. If you're worried about getting fast kills, bring a potion set to boost your combat skills as well.
