Character Creation interface
When players login for the first time they are presented with an interface to create your character, as shown on the left:
The interface presents a wide variety of outfit options for your character. Choose an outfit and it will be displayed in the bottom-right corner of the interface; you can then 'Modify Further' to change character details like skin colour, hair, torso, legs, boots and facial hair. Later, you may pay some characters in-game to change your look. (See the Makeover Guide to read about changing your look in-game.)
NOTE: Your character's outfit will not affect the training or efficiency of any of your skills, but can be used to show others your interests and gives you a personal image to role play as.
Outfit Choices
The following standard outfit choices are available - each is previewed with the character demonstrating the skill represented along with a related 3D back drop (such as an avil and furnace for the Smiths)
- Adventurer - 6 customisations
- Warrior - 3 customisations
- Mage - 3 customisations
- Ranger - 3 customisations
- Slayer
- Thief
- Athlete
- Hunter
- Chef
- Woodcutter
- Fisher
- Priest
- Miner
- Farmer
- Smith - 2 customisations
- Crafter
- Fletcher
- Herblorist
- Summoner
- Runecrafter
Other Choices
- Gender (Male or Female)
- Skin colour (12 different tones)
Customise Character
This section allows you to tweak the base option you chose previously, selecting from the following:
- Skin colour - 12 options
- Hairstyle - 28 style options for male, 34 for female
- Torso base clothing - 32 style options
- Legs base clothing - 32 style options
- Shoes - 18 style options
- Facial hair - 18 style options
There are also many different colouring options for each choice made above, creating thousands of possible choices
Once you have finished, click the 'Confirm' button. This will take you to an interface where you can choose the character name for your character. This is the name that all other players will see when you log into the game. Once you have a name that has not been taken by any other player, you can launch your character into the Introductory Tasks where you will be guided on how to play RuneScape.
