The Classic cape is a cape of distinction and can be obtained (along with the Classic hood) only by players that have access to RuneScape Classic. The cape and the hood are bought together from Iffie located in Thessalia's Fine Clothes (Varrock) for 50,000 coins.

The Classic cape offers an emote which can be displayed by activating the Cape emote in the emotes interface. The emote shows your character thinking about a rune hatchet. The style of the thought bubble mimics the graphics used in Classic for players taking action.

The cape's emote is able to be used in free-to-play worlds, although the cape is only obtainable on members servers.

Since Jagex has stated that RuneScape Classic will no longer be re-opened to allow new players, the Classic cape is essentially a discontinued item.

  • Before March 18th 2013, the Skill Cape emote button when wearing the Classic Cape showed either a rune hatchet, a rune arrow, or a rune bar. This item was chosen at random each time the emote was performed. It was removed to combat unofficial player-run games of chance.
