Q: Is there any way for me to see what templates are available for use already? - LordMarshal 23-Nov-2011 19:08 GMT
A: I don't believe there's a way aside from looking at Special:RecentChanges - Recently I have seen Template:EquipmentStats, Template:NPCInfo, Template:MonsterInfo and Template:ItemInfo, as well as a few tabled ones for drop logs and tables of items with stat listings. - Loggy C 23-Nov-2011 18:28 GMT

- OK, I made a Category:Templates which should contain all the useful templates. Should make managing things easier when it all gets a bit bigger. :) Ale Jrb 23-Nov-2011 20:01 GMT
We are going to be announcing the templates on the main page as and when they come out. We will also be working on a central page for them all Mod Ajd 12-Dec-2011 18:29 GMT
- The templates so far are great. Thanks for all the work you are doing. Hunter-4-4talkcontribs

Q: Hi, I was adding drop lists to monsters (Chicken and Grifolaroo) using the Template:DropTable, which includes a section for prices, but I have not been able to figure out a way to add a link to a dropped item's Grand Exchange info for the price. Is there any way to add a link to an item's Grand Exchange info such as the 1 in the Template:Iteminfo? I did not want to add any prices manually as they are constantly changing. - Thanks, Fudgeducky 03-Jan-2012 6:40 GMT
- {{GElink|ITEMID}} where ItemID is the specific number from the GE page. King Runite1talkcontribs 03-Jan-2012 12:53 GMT
New vs. Old (Continued No.1)
- Touché. However, you can use H1, H2, H3, H4, etc... to "sticky" your discussion and then use a link to get to it instead of "duplicating" your discussion. Template:Community - Signatures - Aeryzias/Discussion 10-Jan-2012 21:15 GMT
- Yep. But if the new stuff gets put at the top people might not read the old discussions. I do see your point about the order thing though, it might be something to discuss somewhere better as it would affect all comments pages, though. - Loggy C 10-Jan-2012 21:26 GMT

Source: "somewhere better"
If I didn't know about this page, then the chances are strong that others haven't as well. In my opinion, I don't find it necessary to wait for another player's "approval". We should just Go Forth & Edit! Template:Community - Signatures - Aeryzias/Discussion 10-Jan-2012 21:39 GMT
- I'd have thought that something affecting every comments page on the wiki might need input from more than 2 people. Plus we don't have a decisive outcome, anyway :P - Loggy C 10-Jan-2012 21:44 GMT
- You're right, but I wasn't thinking for affecting every comment page. I was thinking of pages we visit and how we handle it. Perhaps we can persuade the owner of the page to adopt our format by sharing this discussion with them. Template:Community - Signatures - Aeryzias/Discussion 10-Jan-2012 22:10 GMT
- Moved from StyleSheet. To me it makes more sense to do it chronologically, top to bottom. This is the way that Wikipedia does it, that the other wiki does it, that forums do it within threads, that the chat box does it and that IRC does it. And yes, it needs to be standardised and here is better - King Runite1talkcontribs 10-Jan-2012 21:55 GMT
- Can't you see it's absurd! We're posting in order within a section, but then there's a discussion just below this comment that's an older part of this same discussion! Also it's got to be the same across all talk pages because otherwise it's a mess and comments will be all over the place. - King Runite1talkcontribs 23-Jan-2012 22:34 GMT~
New vs. Old
- Putting comments at the bottom makes it more obvious what's recent :P And it determines the look of the wiki, defining everything to the basic layout, heading and image styles, and the table classes. - Loggy C 10-Jan-2012 19:28 GMT
- Then explain the main page. The news appears from newest to oldest. Template:Community - Signatures - Aeryzias/Discussion 10-Jan-2012 19:32 GMT
- True, but that's because the old news isn't really important and there's so much of it. Old discussions have value, and if there's too much people tend to archive it. It also appears to be convention, maybe for other reasons I don't know - I'm a wiki noob! - Loggy C 10-Jan-2012 19:34 GMT
- I think that new discussions should be posted at the top of the page so it reduces the need to scroll. Template:Community - Signatures - Aeryzias/Discussion 10-Jan-2012 19:38 GMT
- If there are a decent number of discussion topics the table of contents should sort that. - Loggy C 10-Jan-2012 19:53 GMT
- Well, if we have a table of contents, then does it even matter where ANYTHING is put? Template:Community - Signatures - Aeryzias/Discussion 10-Jan-2012 20:17 GMT
- True :P Maybe there's another reason that I don't know... - Loggy C 10-Jan-2012 20:48 GMT
- I think that there is no rule on how discussions are archived. It would just make more sense for new threads/posts/etc to be placed at the top rather than the bottom. Imagine browsing the forums and when you bump a thread it gets placed as the last instead of the first. What if the news and announcements on the main page were placed from oldest to newest? It would be more difficult for players to view newly posted, or bumped, threads on the last page rather than the first. New on the top, old on the bottom. Also, consider the fact that in construction, you must make the foundation before the roof. Template:Community - Signatures - Aeryzias/Discussion 10-Jan-2012 20:57 GMT
The thing about wiki discussions is that sometimes the old stuff is still fairly relevant and so if it's read first then it can avoid duplicated discussion. And if you like newest first, the why doesn't the in-game chatbox stick new messages at the top? :P - Loggy C 10-Jan-2012 21:01 GMT
