The Beginning
It all started with a Indian and asthmatic getting together in a MSN conversation with the help of 4 legends that would make up the leadership of the clan. Awaken and Hostile were two clans who had just hit their peak and were starting to slowly drop. Awaken leaders (General Shop, Jerminator12 and Drew Koskey) along with Hostile leaders (Stephen22288, Viper1500 and Tyler11) were set into a conversation with each other to talk about the future of their clans. Somehow, they got onto the topic of merging Awaken and Hostile and seeing what the outcome would be. They named all the positives and negatives of the situation and the merge seemed to look like it was the best thing for both clans at the time. After having a PK trip together and hunting some smaller clans in the wilderness, the leaders saw that the PK trip went very well and decided to finalize the merge. Two top 20 clans came together to make a clan able to compete with the best.
Leaders - General Shop, Drew Koskey, Viper1500 and Stephen22288
Officers - Cera S6, Jerminator12, Tyler11, Billybagz, Deadmanbjd81 and Lancer 3000
Warlords - Runechamp812, Exp Hog, Dogflogger, Prinz Jao
Advisors - Diegosage, Sweetbritt69
The starting officials of the newly merged clan looked to be very experienced to help Violent Resolution’s quest to the top.
The first week of being merged was very slow with everyone just getting to know everyone and setting up the forums, IRC channel, teamspeak and a memberlist, which was estimated to be 150+ members (90 hostile, 60 Awaken) but turned out to be only 110 members. After setting all that up, we decided to start getting some wars to get some experience working as a unit. Our first opponent was Mystic Knights. We had very little experience going into this fight, but with strong leadership calling on teamspeak and awesome tanking by certain members, Violent Resolution was able to take the win easily.
The weeks went on and it started to clearly show, Violent Resolution was a force to be reckoned with in both warring and in the wilderness. We decided to start working our way up the RSC based RAW rankings and took a look at, Chivalry Legions. We knew going into this war, CL had a good chance of winning but we stood strong as once again, VR officials led VR to victory.
We then went for Gladz’s rank on RAW. By far, this was the closest war near the beginning of our existance. Both VR and Gladz pulled 120 people. The fight stayed close throughout the whole fight, but after some crashing, Gladz called it off, took a fall in and walked out. Violent Resolution stood victorious at membergate with 40 people left, but unfortunately, the war was nulled and did not count for Gladz’s RAW rank.
The Next Step - PKing, Rivalries and Clusters
After those main RAW wars, VR started to get into hardcore PKing. We started slow, hitting smaller clans to make sure we knew VR was ready and willing to return for a long period of time. Of course, we were all ready. The smaller fights turned into larger and soon enough, VR went from fighting clans like Exer in small 20-40 man PK trips, to fighting Corruption, Divine Forces, Eternal Honour, Damage Inc. and other top clans who were able to pull 70 people. The fights lasted for hours and VR managed to win a lot of them. This is where our first rivalries started.
At the starting of the rivalries, VR forums were owned by Tommy, a VR member who was respected by VR officials. After some disputes within the clan against Tommy, he ended up closing down forums. VR officials decided to make the best of the situation and switched forums, using it as an inactive sweep. During this process, VR lost around 20 members but easily rebuilt within a couple weeks.
The Violent Resolution rivalries all started late 2006 as Divine Forces decided it would be fun to mess around with us after some poor leadership decisions by one of our Warlords. We gave DF many fights but due to the recent close of Valor and some other clans who were friendly with DF, we knew DF was growing stronger and stronger by the day. Soon enough, VR was forced to back out when DF were hunting us and eventually, Corruption came to our aid. VR and Corr stuck close and took on the newly formed DF + EH allies. The fights were pretty evenly matched and both sides took wins and loses throughout the course of the rivalry.
During a couple of fights in the wilderness, VR and DI, representing the blue cape unit, teamed in order to take out DF and EH. One weekend, DI was set to fight VR in the wilderness for a planned pk run in. Unfortunately, due to the DF and DI rivalry, DF decided to ruin the fight and come rush DI. VR of course came to aid DI and VR + DI started to fight against DF. Within the first 30 minutes of the fight, DF knew they were getting hit hard so they called in EH to help them out. VR + DI vs DF + EH went on for a couple hours and eventually found VR + DI being the victors. There were a couple of these fights with both VR/DI or DF/EH winning.
Shortly after the VR vs DF rivalry, VR found themselves in trouble with Corruption. VR vs Corr fights were close at first, but after getting hit on some important pk trips, DF decided to step in. DF had always had a big rivalry with Corruption and due to this, DF were willing to help VR take on Corr. Corr found themselves a new partner to help them out. Damage Inc. started to team with Corr and soon enough, we found ourselves fighting in a VR + DF vs Corr + DI 2 v 2 fight. Many of these fights found VR + DF victorious so once again, Corruption went looking for a new partner. Collision, Titans and Echo of Silence were more than glad to help take VR out seeing in the past, VR/DF had hunted all 3 of those clans during many of their PK trips. VR/DF knew we were in trouble and couldn’t take on 5 clans against our 2. This is where the first cluster fights started. Violent Resolution, Divine Forces, Eternal Honour, The Rising, Chivalry Legions and Aggression helds hands and started to fight back against Corruption, Damage Inc., Echo of Silence, Collision, The Titans and Noobs Inc. Many other clans that were friendly with each side decided to jump in in a couple of the cluster fights.
It was around this time during the cluster fights that Violent Resolution officials were mass banned. Tyler11, Viper1500, Evizu, Diegosage, Lancer 3000, Lordnathan88, General Shop and many other well know VR officials were mass banned for real-life trading, something that they did not do but were not able to successfully appeal. This came to VR as a huge blow, but within the couple weeks, VR members/officials who were banned managed to find other accounts to use to fight with and soon enough, VR was back on their feet.
Due to VR seeing Collision and Echo of Silence had been jumping into the cluster fights to fight for Corr. We decided to start hunting both clans. A spy was put into Collision were everytime they had a pk trip, VR would mass up and hit them no matter what. This went on for about 3 months with Collision trips getting hit a lot. At one point in time, VR had forced Collision into making a 2 week preparation PK trip knowing VR would be hunting them. Collision made this pk trip mandatory and pulled almost 100% of their memberlist, pulling 120 people. As Collision was massing, VR was as well and as Collision went out on their first world, VR hopped at the new gate, waited at GDs and 1 hit Expounder as he rushed up the hill. The 120 Collision were no match for VR’s 110 of a lot higher levels and VR’s awesome leadership in the wilderness. After about 5 minutes of fighting, the 120 Collision were left with 20 people at moss giants and left VR losing a max of 15 people. After that, Collision did not pk for quite some time.
Seeing that Collision was taken care of, VR set out to target Echo of Silence for their past participation within the cluster fights. VR and EOS had one of the most active rivalries in the Clan World. Almost everyday, VR would PK and EOS would come to hit us, or EOS would PK and VR would come to hit them. These fights lasted for hours with both VR and EOS being pretty evenly matched throughout.
Seeing how Corruption did not like VR and Corr was at their peak after recruiting friends of friends and such, Corruption thought it would be fun to hunt VR and ruin our run ins. During this time, EOS would just leave or regroup but finally EOS and VR got fed up with Corruption and VR + EOS teamed up to run Corruption out of the wilderness during a couple of our run ins. Eventually, VR vs EOS fights would be protected by Divine Forces to keep any Corr/NI away from ruining the fight. (Thank you for that DF).
Jagex decided to take the wilderness away from clans, the last big fight (went ona couple hours before the update) was Violent Resolution vs Echo of Silence which lasted 4 hours and found VR victorious.
The Arrival of Bounty Hunter
As the wilderness died and Bounty Hunter was put into effect, Violent Resolution kept their close ties with Divine Forces, The Rising, Chivalry Legions and Eternal Honour and Corruption kept their close ties with Damage Inc. The Titans, Collision, Echo of Silence and Noobs Inc. There were a few more cluster fights within Bounty Hunter that VR participated in but mainly, Bounty Hunter showed the diverse activity of Violent Resolution. In the wilderness, VR PKed usually 2 times a day, being named one of the most active clans in the wilderness at the time, but as Bounty Hunter came out, many were wondering if we would keep our activity. Of course, we showed the clan world just how active we were, pking at least 2 times a day and usually, 3. VR would have a GMT, EST and Aussie trip all in the same day, 5 times a week. Our weekend PKs showed us pulling 80 people to trips for most of the Bounty Hunter period and the VR vs EOS rivalry lived on. Violent Resolution weekend trips would find us fighting clans like The Runescape Warhungers Federation, The Titans, Echo of Silence, Runescape Dinasty and Corruption while our weekday pk trips found us fighting mainly EOS. Almost everyday in Bounty Hunter, VR and EOS would have a go at each other, with pk run ins lasting at least 3 hours every fight. VR and EOS were found to be the two most active clans in Bounty Hunter at the time. There was once a pk trip that started at 11pm EST with EOS heading out and VR following. We hit them at 11:15 and the fight lasted until 6 in the morning on a school night for the most of both clans. Both VR and EOS went back and forth taking the lead throughout this fight but in the end, VR's GMT unit started logging in and EOS’s GMTers could not match the amount VR had and eventually, EOS called off returning at 6am EST time.
VR was faced with another challenge during Bounty Hunter. 2 VR founders, Viper1500 and General Shop decided to make a new clan called Final Resistance, which caused a lot of VR to leave. We thought it would affect us greatly, but the weekend after FR had broken off of VR, we found ourselves pulling 85 people to a 3 day prep pk, proving that indeed FR did not have an effect on us.
The end of clans in Bounty Hunter ended must like the dying of the wilderness; A Violent Resolution vs Echo of Silence pk run in. The run in all started with DF talking to VR officials at 6pm EST, telling us that EOS was heading out to hit RSD that night. DF wanted to hit RSD so of course, VR decided to help DF out and hit EOS before they would get to RSD. As EOS hopped to RSD’s world, VR rushed them quickly and the fight started. RSD found out shortly after that DF was hunting them and ended their pk so unfortunately for DF, they had no fight for the night. The VR vs EOS fight lasted for 5 hours that night, ending at 11pm EST with EOS calling off returning and VR being left with the win.
The next day, Bounty Hunter was changed to single combat and clans could not pk there any longer.
Clan Wars and FFA Arenas
All clan fights were moved into Clan Wars, a place where the main boundaries were the middle walls which allowed members to easily tank around. VR continued their activity there, having an average of 12 wars every week. At the beginning, VR mainly found EOS but eventually moved away from that and found SE as the clan that VR would fight the most.
With a recent update that Jagex had made, it allowed clans to now do free for all fights instead of the usual clan war fights where you can't return. VR took this FFA arena by storm, keeping our activity up with fights with Divine Forces and Echo of Silence. VR was proved to be the most active clan in these arenas while DF and EOS were close behind. There were not a lot of clans who used this arena. Both TT and Collision attempted to and were shut down by VR or DF numerous times. Even though FFA arenas were getting boring, fighting the same clan over and over (DF/EOS and rarely, Collision + Titans), we knew that it was giving us experience to what was to come; the PvP update everyone was waiting for.
The Return of PvP Wilderness
With the wilderness back, VR had no plans of taking ANY of their fights back into Clan Wars. We once again kept up our activity, PKing almost everyday killing clans that were attempting to get some experience in PvP. With clans wanting to get back in action ASAP, VR set up fights with DI, EH, SE and RSD with VR being victorious in all battles. Hitting a mini slump with some key officials going inactive for a short period of time, VR took this newly found top 4 rank and were forced down to rank 7th or so due to this slump. VR had lost 20 of its members and officials were going inactive, leaving VR with losses against EH, DI and RSD, all clans that they had beaten within the month before.
Disapponted, VR knew changed was needed promoting 4 new Commanders to help lead in the wilderness. Nelsover, Wardle69 and a couple others were promoted to Commander, a new rank which acted as fall in leaders in the wilderness to help call. With the new Commanders going inactive, they were demoted fairly quickly to make room for VR's Commanders Empire Mind, Solcrystal, Riku14777 and Jaguarrr. The Commander rank was changed to Warlord and these new Warlords would be the right choice in helping VR's quest to the top.
With VR officials getting active once again, VR members recruited their friends to get back the membercount recently lost. VR managed to take out DI, EH and RSD in fights 3 weekends in a row, getting VR ranked back into the top 5.
This was the end of 2008 for VR, on a very high note. We went into 2009 looking big and wanted to continue the momentum we had gained.
Violent Resolution History - 2009
January:
After a year full of ups and downs, high and lows, Violent Resolution went into the new year wanting to put a mark on the clan world. (Jan 4th) A week prep Pkri was planned with Corruption (who at the time were ranked 2nd), after a long week of preparing and a lot of threats from Corruption, Violent Resolution made history and pull maxed options for the first time in their life. The fight i self was a massacre and after 4 hours of destruction Violent Resolution stand victorious with over 110 people.
The very next day Violent Resolution set out to hunt Eternal Honour on their week prep Pk (Jan 5th), after 6 hours of fighting Violent Resolution come out with the win. The same day promotions are made with Ricky200, Gunners307, Craigberry11, Pieffer and Tornado581 all being promoted to strengthen the clan. A week prep Pkri is planned with Divine Forces.
The Titans see how strong Violent Resolution is becoming and after finding out the forums spies Violent Resolution has they use this as an excuse to give them 'A Final Warning.' Violent Resolution is to either kick the members at fault (Riku147777, Craigberry11 and a unknown 'Kallo5') or be punished with constant crashing (Jan 9th). Violent Resolution ignore the threats and this same day Violent Resolution are crowned Most Active clan and also Most Hated clan.
The next day (Jan 10th) is the day Violent Resolution and Divine Forces had arranged their fight for. Both clans pull over 100 people and during the fight Violent Resolution hit 135 people but as the fight started The Titans crash, Violent Resolution and Divine Forces team up to destroy The Titans multiple times. After being sent to single Titans call upon all of their Allies to aid them in crashing, Violent Resolution and Divine Forces agree on a draw and walk out.
A day after the disappointing fight with Divine Forces (Jan 11th) Violent Resolution run into Corruption and a fight is planned, Violent Resolution head into battle with 50 people while Corruption stand ready with over 70 but after just 3 hours of fighting, Corruption are cleared and Violent Resolution end with over 90 people. The previous threats by The Titans seem laughable as their attempt to crash was a horrible fail.
The next day (Jan 13th) Violent Resolution are out Pking and get word that The Titans are massing for them. The tension between both clans had been building and this fight was inevitable, both clans start of with 40/50 people but The Titan's numbers soon rose to 80+ as Violent Resolution's numbers stayed around 50 until 3 hours in when they started to gain numbers. After 7 hours of fighting, after all the threats from The Titans and after all the talk Violent Resolution amaze the clan world and defeat The Titans (then ranked 1st) and end with 70+ people.
As the days pass by Violent Resolution started to P2P more and pick up P2P wins against RDC, KO, NB, TT, TC and ROT (ranked 2nd in P2P). VR was proved to be a force to be reckoned with in both F2P wilderness and P2P wilderness.
At this point in the middle of the month, VR stood undefeated in 2009 and was pulling 300+ options to every week prep and a good 200 options to short prep trips aswell. We were making an impact on the top 3 clans and were getting ranked between rank 1 and rank 4 due to recent wins. VR was taking on clans like ROT, DI, KO, 420 and TC in P2P, defeating all but DI on numerous occasions.
VR managed to get another weekend win against Corruption, getting VR to about rank 3. Still undefeated, VR set out to take down Divine Forces. DF were properly prepped for us and VR took 2 losses in the same day to DF, putting our undefeated spree to an end. The weekend after, VR would lose a fight vs Corruption. Losing 3 fights in a row, VR was discouraged but kept their heads high and looked for our revenge.
Nearing the end of the month (Jan 25th) Violent Resolution hit Divine Forces on their Pk trip, with both clans around the same strength a tough battle was expected but after just 2 hours of fighting Divine Forces call of returning leaving Violent Resolution standing strong with 100+ people ending. After this fight a week prep between both clans is agreed on to see who is the stronger of the two clans.
The next day (Jan 26th) Violent Resolution head out to hunt Eternal Honour on a late night Pk, hearing Eternal Honour ended their Pk trip Violent Resolution turn their attention to Chilvary Legion an Australian based clan. Both clans started with similar options but after just 1 hour of fighting Violent Resolution defeat Chilvary Legion in their own timezone ending with 50 people.
We continued the year strong, taking down CORR, DI, EH, DF and TT for the top spots. After a huge win over The Titans (the number one clan at the time), VR was starved of fights from all the clan worlds in an attempt to take us down. This did not work, as VR just went into fights of clans we had beef with and created clusters for ourselves. Shadow Elves, Divine Forces, Corruption and numerous other clans all made an alliance in an attempt to take out VR. With DK offering to come to our aid, VR and DK took out clan after clan in these cluster fights. As the cluster fights started to get boring, getting teamed 8 v 2, VR decided to stop the clusters creating truces with all clans involved and allowed 1 v 1 fights to happen once again.
Summer arrived with VR having a ton of inactives due to vacation as DF and EOS both had a boost of new Fas and activity. As the summer went on, VR found themselves with some new and experienced officials coming from different clans. Ex EOS Warlord Empire Mind, Ex Corruption Warlords D2master12 and Lukas1400 and with the closing of DI, VR found themselves with one of the best tanks of Runescape, Radicalsurfu. With these 4 very experienced Warlords, VR looked to come out on top of the competition. There was a flow of members joining VR from clans such as Brutality and Frozen Fury along with the now dead Damage Inc. With these flow of Fas, VR found themselves with a healthy 200+ total member count and was compared to the great Dark Slayers. Questing to the top, VR found themselves fighting DF night after night coming out with victorious most of the time. As DF took a huge hit from VR their activity started to plummet and eventually, they were no longer able to compete, leaving VR with really no one to fight. With VR and DF still being on bad terms due to these constent fights, both VR and DF started to crash each other creating a crashing war. Soon after VR would find themselves fighting EOS, Corruption and DF in 3 v 1 fights in order for these clans to compete against the army of blue capes known of Violent Resolution. As time progressed, both EOS and Corruption took huge hits from this crashing war with members leaving and being bored of the constent crashing. Corruption and EOS both asked for truces and VR found themselves fighting only DF once again. With Brutality and ROT having a rivalry in P2P, ROT decided to come to F2P to target the Brutality in VR. VR did not stand for this and started to hit ROT back during their fights due to them killing VR members and not keeping the Brutality rivalry in P2P. Soon enough, VR was back fighting 2 v 1 with DF and ROT both teaming of VR in order to get some wins. ROT started to use DDOSing methods in order to take down VR officials and VR teamspeak during fights, looking for a cheap way to win. These methods proved to be strong against VR but we never gave up. VR would use backup Teamspeaks or just call the old-fashion way ingame in order to keep organized in fights. Still today, VR is in a crashing war with both DF and ROT with neither side being ready to back down.
