The High Priest of Icthlarin has problems again - this time with the inhabitants of Menaphos. Sophanem is recovering from the plague, yet most of its citizens are still trapped on the other side of the river. Diplomacy has failed and subterfuge beckons. Clearly, this is the sort of job that a shifty adventurer could excel in.

Now that I have proved the plagues are not contagious, the High Priest of Sophanem was trying to re-establish contact with their twin city Menaphos across the river.
I should probably find out why the High Priest was trying to get into Menaphos. I need to return to the Temple of Icthlarin and speak to him.
I can find the High Priest in the south-west corner of the city of Sophanem.
The High Priest told me that the citizens of Sophanem need to return in order to save the city from being abandoned to the desert. I should probably see if the High Priest knows any way that I can get a message to his people in Menaphos on the other side of the river.
The High Priest told me that long ago, at the height of the desert cities, the Sect of Scabaras planned to dig a tunnel under the river Elid. I need to go and speak to Jex outside the Temple of Lesser Gods to find out more about the entrance to these tunnels.
The Temple of Lesser Gods is located in the north-east corner of Sophanem.
The High Priest of Sophanem has tasked me with getting a message to his people trapped within the city of Menaphos on the other side of the river. He also told me about a series of tunnels created by an ancient sect which lead under the river.
Now that the priest Jex has shown me how to unlock the trapdoor in the Temple of Lesser Gods, I should venture down to the bank level and attempt to open it.
To get there, I will need to enter the Temple of Lesser Gods and climb down the trapdoor in the back corner.
I will then need to attempt to open the trapdoor in the floor next to the ladder I just climbed down.
I should ensure that I've got some kind of light source and a tinderbox with me as it's bound to be dark down there. I'd better also be prepared for some very hard fights with the Sect of Scabaras.
I need to find some way to get a message into the city of Menaphos, one of these passageways will lead me on the correct direction. I imagine that it will be one quite far away from where I enter the maze.
I need to get to this particular ladder as this will lead me in the direction that I need. On this floor of the maze I must go slowly and scan ahead of myself for traps or anything else suspicious. No-one has ever returned alive from down here. My thieving levels will likely serve me well when trying to temporarily disarm traps.
I should probably stay away from the lower floor of the maze as it appears infested with the Sect of Scabaras but if I choose to go down there, I'll have fewer traps to deal with. I must remember that I can only use it as a shortcut, I can't get to the ladder I need on the lower floor.
The High Priest of Sophanem has tasked me with getting a message to his people trapped within the city of Menaphos on the other side of the river. He also told me about a series of tunnels created by an ancient sect which lead under the river.
After exploring the tunnels under the river I have found a body on which I found a letter. The most logical thing for me to do with this scroll I found on that body is to read it and see what it says. Perhaps it will tell me who the poor chap was.
The body I found in the tunnels belonged to a spy named Kaleef, though I have no idea what horrible thing killed him. His scroll said that he was supposed to be meeting a contact from Menaphos down here.
Perhaps I should explore further and see if I can find Kaleef's contact. They will probably want to know that he won't be attending any meetings and they might be able to help me in my quest.
It seems that I am being drawn back into Osman the Kharidian Spymaster's plans again. The last time I had to assist his daughter Leela in rescuing Prince Ali from a prison near Draynor Village.
I should travel to the centre of the large cave and stand on the edge of the fissure. From there I should be able to shout across to Maisa, Kaleef's contact. The answers that she requires are "Draynor Village" and "Leela".
While searching for a way to get a message into Menaphos for the High Priest I have become involved in the plotting of the Al Kharid spy network.
I need to return to speak to Osman the spymaster in the city of Al Kharid at the entrance to the Kharidian desert.
I can find Osman standing to the west of the Kharidian palace, which is itself just north of the Shantay Pass.
I have told Osman that Maisa wishes to meet him within the underground caverns of the Sect of Scabaras. Osman said that he would rendezvous with me outside of the gates of Sophanem.
I believe Osman will be waiting to make contact with me here.
Well, it's definitely been a lot longer than the two hours I was supposed to wait here for Osman to reappear. I should probably enter the maze underneath the Temple of Lesser Gods in Sophanem to see if I can find any evidence of him. Again, I will need to make sure that I am prepared with a light source, tinderbox, good armour, food and potions before I go down into the dangers of the caverns.
I need to travel back to the cavern, between the cities of Sophanem and Menaphos, under the river Elid.
I can, of course, opt to take the more dangerous route through the lower level, which has no traps, but I must make sure that I'm up to fighting legions of the Sect of Scabaras.
It looks like Osman has been attacked by that giant scarab, in fact it's probably the one that killed Kaleef. I should try to help Osman and kill the beast.
The giant scarab and all its minions are probably weakest against stabbing attacks. I should use a powerful stabbing weapon and a combination of protection prayers and potions to be able to withstand their attacks.
Now that I've defeated the giant scarab I should probably speak to Osman and see if he's okay. That was quite a blow he took at the beginning of the fight.
Well, I've managed to get a message delivered to the citizens of Sophanem that were trapped inside Menaphos. I should return to the High Priest and tell him of my success.
I can find him in the Temple of Icthlarin in the south-west corner of Sophanem.
