The Corrupt dragon mace (sometimes abbreviated as CDM) is a rare drop from the Forinthry Dungeon and was released on October 15, 2008 along with PvP worlds. However, since the release, PvP Worlds have been removed. To wield this item, 60 attack is needed. It has identical stats to the Dragon mace, excluding the special attack. Included with not having a special attack, the corrupt mace degrades over time and has a higher price. After 30 minutes of being equipped, it disappears into dust, permanently. It also has one of the highest prayer bonuses on a weapon in free-to-play.
At the moment, the Corrupt dragon mace can be obtained as a rare drop from revenants in the Forinthry Dungeon, buying it from the Grand Exchange, or by trading with another player. Before Bounty Hunter and PvP Worlds were removed, it could be received as a semi-rare drop when a player killed their opponent in combat. The mace's most common use is in free-to-play player killing. This is because it has the ability to hit up to 300, although this is rare. However, due to it only lasting for a very short amount of time and other weapons being able to hit just as high, the mace is still rarely used.
The Corrupt dragon mace, along with all other corrupt dragon items, degrades when worn, not while in combat. When not using this item, it is highly recommended not to wield it, as this makes the mace degrade faster.
On a member's world, it is highly recommended to use the non-degrading dragon mace. This is because, although it has identical stats, it doesn't degrade and has a special attack. The corrupt version is also more than three times more expensive than it's non-corrupt counterpart.
