Dark Beasts are a slayer monster that require level 90 Slayer to kill. Dark beasts can be found in either the Temple of Light or Kuradal's Dungeon. They are known for their rare drop of the Dark Bow, though also commonly drop the much sought after Ancient Effigies. They also have a very good drop rate of Blue charms.

At melee distance, the beast will attack with Melee assuming that the player did not initiate battle. As such, due to their high combat level and ability to hit up to 170 melee damage, it is recommended to use the curse Deflect Melee or the prayer Protect from Melee. If you stray from melee distance, the beast will use magic attacks that can hit up to 80 damage. The beast will also use magic attacks if the player does not allow for it to attack first. As the beast is ALWAYS aggressive, players can avoid ever being hit by magic attacks simply by allowing the beast to make the first attack.

Trivia

  • Although attacking with melee, sometimes it appears that the Dark Beast you are in combat with is attacking from a long distance.

Frog Bazooka

When you are in the Mourner's Underground, if you have dropped your Frog Bazooka (Fixed device) from Mourning's Ends Part I, you can get another one here.

  • Bring a piece of soft leather, a magic log and a P'made Toad Crunchie from the Gnome Stronghold.
  • Search the chest in the Head Mourner's room and take the broken device.
  • Search his desk and take the tarnished key.
  • Go next door and talk to the gnome 3 times

You should now have the repaired Frog Bazooka in your inventory! Start blastin'! See Mourning's Ends Part I Quest Guide for information on creating extra ammo for the Bazooka. Note: If you wield the Bazooka in the Mourner's basement, they will become hostile.
