Speak to Grüfeld Bach. He is located in the Saradomin Church in north-east Varrock (yellow dot). He will explain about Denath and his plans to summon the demon Delrith. Agree to help him and he'll ask you to find Silverlight - the only weapon known to harm the demon.
In the church, to the north-east of Grüfeld Bach's position, is a trapdoor (red dot). Head down it into the crypt where the sword is stored. Head north and speak to the three spirits that are there. You'll need to pass three tests before they will give you Silverlight. The spirits will vanish and reappear in the trial areas which are at cardinal points to your position.
Head west and speak to the Spirit of the Body to start the Trial of Body (magenta dot). When you are ready, kill the 10 skeletons that spawn. This will complete the trial and you can return to the central chamber. You can pick up their bones if you wish.
Head north and speak to the Spirit of Faith to start the Trial of Faith (cyan dot). Step into the chasm and take small steps, following the instructions given by the Spirit of Faith. The path is marked as red on the map. Making it to the other side will complete the trial and you can return to the central chamber - you can walk directly back as you will not fall this time.
Head east and speak to the Spirit of the Mind to start the Trial of Mind (orange dot). Answer the questions as follows:
When you have answered all the questions correctly the trial will be complete and you can return to the central chamber.
Speak to the spirits, and when they have removed the barrier, take Silverlight from the altar. Exit the crypt to the south.
Speak to Grüfeld Bach and he will tell you where Denath is located. Head directly south to the very edge of Varrock where the Zamorakian church is located, and use the trapdoor there.
Grüfeld Bach will meet you at the bottom of the ladder. Head south into the first room and defeat the two monks. From here head east into the second room. There are 3 monks here, defeat them and continue east into the third room where 4 more monks await you. Once all of the monks have been dispatched, head south into the main chamber. Here you will find Denath.
It is too late to stop him, he has already summoned the demon, so equip Silverlight and slay the foul beast.
When he is defeated you will escape back to the Saradomin Church. Speak to Grüfeld Bach for your reward.

At a Saradominist church in Varrock, the adventurer encounters Grüfeld Bach, a Saradominist who asks him/her to help him stop an evil wizard Denath summoning the demon Delrith by going down to the crypt to get Silverlight, the only sword capable of stopping Delrith. Bach introduces himself as a member of a Saradominist order who are dedicated to stopping evil Zamorakians summoning evil demons and Bach comments that the adventurer might meet some of his colleagues someday.
Bach tells him/her that Denath is an evil Zamorakian wizard who has been his nemesis for many years but his latest plan to summon Delrith has overshadowed all of his trouble. Summoning Delrith would not only risk his own life but everybody in Varrock so Denath was to be considered insane. The plan to summon Delrith wasn't original though; in the past, Delrith was summoned 150 years ago but Bach's ancestor, as Bach is a descendant of a long line of demon hunters. Bach tells the adventurer to get Silverlight, the only weapon capable of harming Delrith, which is guared by Bach's ancestors.
The adventurer goes down to the crypt and meets the ghosts of Bach's ancestors guarding the altar of Silverlight: the Spirit of the Body, the Spirit of the Mind, and the Spirit of Faith. They tell the adventurer that they must test him/her first before they remove the barrier of the altar and teleport to their respective rooms. The adventurer has to complete their trials in any order.
In the left room, the Spirit of the Body tells him/her that a powerful weapon can be taken by weak persons so the Trial of the Body is to determine if the adventurer is strong enough to use Silverlight. When the adventurer is ready to begin the trial, the spirit tells him/her is to clean up the ten piles of bones, which immediately come into life as skeletons. The adventurer defeats all of them, with the spirit being pleased with the result and teleports back to the altar.
In the right room, the Spirit of the Mind's Trial of the Mind tests the adventurer's knowledge of his/her quest as the adventurer's mind cannot be clouded by trivial matters. The adventurer answers all of his questions correctly and the spirit is pleased that the adventurer knows what is lying ahead for them.
In the north room, the Spirit of Faith's Trial of Faith tests to see if the adventurer has faith in the gods to guide them on their quest as Silverlight is powerless without the faith to use it. The trial is to cross a chasm in the room, which has no visible ways of crossing. The spirit tells him/her to listen to his directions to get across so that he/she would put faith in the gods to guide him/her. If he/she fell into the chasm, then he/she is teleported back to the spirit. After walking across the chasm successfully, the spirit is happy that he/she has faith in them and that he/she can walk back to the altar room by walking anywhere on the chasm now.
At the altar, the three spirits congratulate the adventurer for passing their trials and see him/her as worthy for getting Silverlight now. They say goodbye to the adventurer, remove the barrier, and disappear. The adventurer goes to the altar and grabs Silverlight. He/she returns to Bach to tell him the news, which has coincided with him finding out that Denath is located beneath the Zamorakian temple in Varrock. He tells the adventurer to get to the temple immediately and enter the trapdoor there.
At the temple's basement, the adventurer and Bach (level: 8) kill all nine monks of Zamorak and encounter Denath, who is angry that Bach is here to ruin his plans again. Denath calls Bach an old man as he taunts him for being too late to stop him and burns the tome of demonology. Denath laughs at Bach's failure and wants to see Varrock being destroyed somewhere else so Denath teleports away when Delrith is summoned. Delrith attacks Bach with a magical attack but he creates a shield to block most of the damage. During the fight, Bach continues to create barriers to protect them against Delrith. Once Delrith is defeated, Bach banishs him back to his realm and teleports both of them back to the Saradominist church.
Bach congratulates the adventurer for saving Varrock from Denath and rewards him/her with Silverlight.
