Diango is a non-player-character that offers an item retrieval service. From him, you can obtain lost untradable Holiday Items and Promotional Items. You must have previously obtained the item in order to reclaim it.

Diango also acts as a place to claim items and systems that Jagex has provided a redeem code for such as the Flagstaff of festivities, Runefest 2011 hood and the Golden scythe. If the you have unlocked the ability to, Diango can give the you a makeover with Green skin.

For those who have lost items won on the Squeal of Fortune , an option to buy these items back is available^*. Prices depend on the item level of the item that was lost.

For items that can be transformed into different levels, the cost you must pay is for the highest item level that you can equip. So, if you have a high enough level to equip the shark fist 2, then you will have to pay 7500 coins.

^* Note that this option is only available for items lost after 18th March 2013, due to the way the items are checked, items lost before this cannot be reclaimed as there is no way to check if they were ever owned.

History

Diango was originally added to RuneScape on 1 April 2004 initially as an April Fools' joke. He is found in Draynor Village.

Upon release, Diango offered to sell toy horseys as a joke because many players had been suggesting real horses being added to the game. He now also sells other joke items that were released on April Fools' such as:

• The Spinning plates (released 4 April 2005)
• The Dragon kites (released 1 April 2008).

On 1 February 2011 he began selling Celebration cakes and Celebration candles in celebration of RuneScape's 10 year anniversary. On 19 April 2011 Diango began selling fireworks, firecrackers, a bubble maker, confetti and a souvenir mug available to all players and a bouquet only available to members.

Trivia

• Diango is only occasionally involved with events in RuneScape, mostly those of a holiday nature. In the 2005 Christmas event, it was established that he hired a group of pixies to help make toys and holiday decorations for him in the workshop. In later years, the pixies have presumably started earlier on their projects, and have not needed the help of passing adventurers since the Halloween 2006 event.
• Diango also appears to have ties with nearly every character involved in holiday events. In a reply to a letter in Postbag from the Hedge, he states that it is not because he owes favours to these characters. It is because they owe HIM favours. Presumably, before he settled down to sell toys and novelties in Draynor Village, he led a more eventful and active life. However, the details of his previous adventures with the Easter Bunny, the Queen of Snow, and other holiday personages are not known.
