To start fighting in Dominion Tower players must click on one of the flights of stairs leading up from the ground floor and choose one of several game modes they wish to access.

The modes are:

Climber Mode

Random handicap

For this type of battle you must move up the floors, fighting a random boss at every level. You will also face a random handicap at each level which is stacked with the handicaps from the previous levels. Each level is a gamble of your reward; if you are defeated your reward is lessened. Handicaps are a way of making the battle harder such as reducing your magic attacks or starting the battle on half health.

The handicaps can be nudged or re-spun, up to three times. Re-spin will start the wheel of handicaps again, allowing you another chance to stop the wheel at a more favourable handicap. Nudge will move the wheel down to the next handicap that you haven't encountered.

If you do not want to risk your progress (press 'hold on' when your next fight is shown to you if you are about to enter a fight), claim your reward from the reward box. Doing so will reset your progress and you will have to start from the beginning if you wish to take part in another climber battle.

Note that once you have started a Climber battle, you will not be able to take part in any of the other battle types until you have finished the battle by claiming your reward.

Endurance Mode

Unlike Climber mode, you are not allowed to use the bank chest in between battles. This is a test to see how long you can last with your current inventory. You do not receive any handicaps during this mode.

Special Mode

With special fights you can choose the type of fight, but handicaps and the fight set-up are chosen for you. There are no additional handicaps here and you cannot take part in a challenge until you have faced the bosses involved in a climber fight.

The fights are as follows:

  • Revenge of the Evil Chickens
    Fend off 15 evil chickens.
  • Finish Him!
Defeat Arrav, Koschei the Deathless, General Khazard, Black Knight Guardian, The Kendal and the Black, Grey and White golems. They start at 20% health.

  • No More Nomad… No More!
Face Nomad twice in a row.

Freestyle Mode

Freestyle battle setup

With this game mode, you can fight a boss of your choosing using any set-up that you like. Choose a boss from the left hand side and then decide which, if any, handicaps you want to activate for the fight. You can only battle NPCs that you have completed the quest for and defeated at least once in the Climber or Endurance modes.
