The Dragon mace (often abbreviated as D Mace) is a weapon made of Dragon metal and is considered to be the strongest mace in game. It requires 60 Attack and the completion of the Heroes' Quest to wield. As with all maces, the Dragon mace deals powerful crushing damage, while able to perform a less effective stab attacks. It comes with a special attack, like all Dragon weapons, called shatter. The Dragon mace also carries a Prayer bonus, as do all maces.

To obtain the dragon mace, a player can buy one from the Heroes' Guild for 50,000 coins, buying one from the Grand Exchange or by trading with another player. There is also a corrupt counterpart, the Corrupt dragon mace, which is available to free-to-play users.

The Dragon mace is not a very common weapon, however, it is still a powerful one. In the right situations, a player can deal over 500 damage four times (Five with the Ring of vigour), which can turn tables in fights. Currently, the highest hit has been able to do with it's special attack is 940, nearing killing a player with max health. It is useful in the Barbarian Assault activity, as it can utilize all stances that the Penance Rangers and Fights are weak to, along with its powerful special attack. Additionally, it is used on Waterfiends, due to them being weak to crush.

Special Attack

Shatter uses up 25% of the special attack bar. When using this special attack, the strength of the next hit is increased while the accuracy is lowered. This weapon was once commonly used for a special attack weapon to hit through armour, however as Defence has received updates, such as absorption - it's become less used as a special attack weapon as it has a higher chance of missing compared to the Dragon dagger. Because it has a higher chance of missing, it isn't used as much as it once was.

  • The Dragon mace is less commonly used in PvP activities compared to the Dragon longsword due to pure's being unable to obtain it, thus removing a large portion of players who would use it for PVP activities. However, the dragon mace is often considered better as a special attack weapon.
