Dragonbane bolt is a bolt that does additional damage to Dragons. They require 50 Ranged to wield and player must have completed Ritual of the Mahjarrat quest.
To make one of these bolts, a Bane ore should be mined at the Baneore Cave. Then, by tuning it using Tune bane ore spell on the item, you get Dragonbane ore. Next, you can smelt it, and smith the bar. Lastly, using a Feather on the Dragonbane bolts (unf) you get Dragonbane bolt.
It is worth of mentioning that it has same stats as broad-tipped bolts, plus additional damage against dragons.
Due to the fact that from one ore you get 50 bolts, and ore is quite easy to get, you can get 28 ores in inventory, then home teleport to Egdeville, bank ore and repeat. After you are bored or satisfied, get to bank and tune all ore. After that easily smelt it in near - by furnance into bar. Lastly just run to the Kethsi and make bolts. I (at level 87 of mining) was able to fill my inventory with ore in 3 minutes. Tuning ore takes 5 secs, and smelting one inventory like 1 minute. Running up to Kethsi and smithing bolts could be done in 6 minutes, wich makes you 1400 Dragonbane bolts (unf). Longest part is feathering, that could be done approximatelly in 10 minutes (counting this amount).
To sum it up, you are able to produce 1400 bolts in 20 minutes, but I managed to do it faster. So in hour you can produce up to 5200 bolts. However, using the methodd where ore is banked, and after few trips all ore tuned etc. I managed to create 27K bolts in 1 - 2 hours (without familiar). By using a Pack yak familiar, you get much more. It basically costs you nothing, so it may be best choice of bolt-ammo.
- Tune bane ore is unlocked by reading the scroll in the dungeon of Kethsi, it's found by searching the bookcases.
- A single set of Dragon bones can be used to tune unlimited bane ore.
