| This article is about the Goblin race. For the NPC, see Goblin |
Introduction
Goblins are a primitive race, originating from Yu'biusk, and are apparently related to the hobgoblin, ork, and ourg species. They serve the god Bandos, although most feel that they are unworthy to utter his name. Thus, while goblin priests use his true name on holy days, he is most often called the 'Big High War God' by his goblin followers.
Despite their generally ill temperament and obvious martial compulsion, most surface goblins are considerably weaker than trained human warriors and, in accordance with the will of Bandos, tend to avoid thinking. They can often be found harmlessly wandering the lands, mostly in the human kingdoms. The largest known goblin settlement on the surface is the Goblin Village of northern Asgarnia, headed by General Bentnoze and General Wartface.
Since some time during the God Wars, goblins have been divided into two very different groups - surface goblins and cave goblins. This article concerns itself with surface goblins and goblins on a whole. For detailed information on cave goblins, please see Dorgeshuun.
