The hobgoblin is a sub-species of goblin found in various locations, including near the Crafting Guild, the Asgarnian Ice Dungeon and the caverns under the Tree Gnome Village, as well as the Abandoned Floors of Daemonheim and the God Wars Dungeon. They are all stronger than regular goblins, but those that use spears are considerably more dangerous than their unarmed counterparts.

Hobgoblins are known to commonly drop limpwurt roots, but their rarest drop is a champion scroll, which allows its owner to fight the Hobgoblin Champion in the Champions' Challenge.
