A technical issue is anything that is preventing you from being able to load, or play any Jagex products.
A bug is an error in the coding of the game that affects the way it runs. We consider a bug to be any piece of broken code that stops the game or website working as it should. An example of this would be: being awarded 10000XP instead of the usual 10 for completing a common task.
Bug Reports (may include but not limited to):
If you think you have found a bug you can find instructions for reporting it on the Bug Report form.
It’s really helpful if you make sure that when you report anything to us, you are using the right reporting method. That way, the reports go straight to the right people, and we can make the fixes we need to as soon as we can.
If you feel a part of the game or the RuneScape website is broken or not functioning as it normally should, we would love to know about it so we can fix it as soon as possible.
Take a look at our Contact Us page if you have something you want to contact us about that isn’t bug related.
Bug Abuse is the exploitation of an in-game bug that is used to gain an unfair advantage within RuneScape. If players take advantage of the bugs, it makes it unfair on everyone in game.
Obviously if you accidentally find a bug and report it to us, we can see this isn’t Bug Abuse. Only if you were to continue to exploit the bug would you see action taken against your account.
If you come across a bug, please tell us about it and include details of how it could be exploited when submitting your bug report. If you see another player involved in bug abuse, please send through a bug report as usual. It would also be helpful if you could include the names of the players involved.
