Recommended Settings Depending On Your Computer Hardware:
1. To find out what hardware you have please follow the steps below:
For Windows:
Click Start, then type DxDiag into the search bar that appears and press Enter.
The Processor in your computer will be listed in the tab titled ‘System’. The Video Card in your computer will be listed in the tab titled ‘Display 1’.
For Mac:
Click the Apple logo – this will often be in either the top left or top right hand corner of your desktop. Click ‘About this mac’. The Processor in your computer will then be listed.
Then click ‘More info...’. In the window that appears next, click ‘Graphics/Displays’. The Video Card in your computer will then be listed.

Linux
Jagex does not currently offer support towards Linux OS. However, there is a very informative thread on our forums dedicated to Linux users, with plenty of useful tips and tricks for running RuneScape with Linux.

No Longer Supported
The following operating systems are no longer officially supported by RuneScape, and you may not be able to play if using them:
- Microsoft Windows 95
- Microsoft Windows 98
- Microsoft Windows ME
- Mac OSX 10.4
- Mac OSX 10.5 32bit – If you have a 64bit version of OSX 10.5, please use our downloadable client.
Both of these version of OSX have been discontinued by Apple for a long time and unfortunately they no-longer provide new versions of Java for them.
