Partyhat

Partyhats (often abbreviated as phats, or P-hat) are considered to be one of the most sought out items within the game. They were obtained from the christmas event in 2001, where Christmas Crackers were dropped randomly across the world. Pulling these gave the player a randomly coloured partyhat. All in all, there are six different colours making up a partyhat set, as seen below. However, they all retain the same shape and size, and have no variance in statistics; the difference is purely aesthetic.

Price

Since these items are so rare, the prices are high in the billions (B), easily surpassing other discontinued items. Suprisingly, the Grand Exchange market value does not reflect the trading price of these items. A notable example of this is the Blue partyhat. The Grand Exchange shows the item as being worth around 2.1B coins, though players trade them for a value that is higher. This is commonly referred to as being the "Street Price" of the item.

Note that 1B = 1000M = 1,000,000K = 1,000,000,000, not 1 million million (short scale, not long scale)

For a rough street price guide, refer to the partyhat status threads found under item discussions. These threads are usually updated by the latest trades made by some players and give you a rough idea of the current street price of the partyhats.

Note: These prices are only meant to be a rough guide for interested players. If you wish to buy or sell a partyhat, you should visit the RuneScape forums first.
