Each of the prayers can be turned on or off individually, and while in use will grant your character the advantages as listed above. To activate a prayer, left-click the icon in question and it will have a light appear around it, which lets you know that the prayer is in use. To deactivate it, simply click on it again.
At any one time you may have a single protect prayer (Protect from Magic, Protect from Melee, Protect from Missiles) active, as well as one of the following options:
- Strength and Attack prayers (only one of each at a time)
- One Magic prayer
- One Ranged prayer
- Protect from Summoning
So you can only use one attack-method prayer at a time (Attack and Strength combined count as melee-style here), and only one Defence prayer.
While any of your prayers are active, your prayer points will start to slowly drain towards zero. The more prayers you use at once and the more powerful they are, the faster your points will be drained. Prayer drain is calculated as (drain rate / 100) * (100 - prayer bonus). The prayer bonus comes from any armour or weapons that you have equipped that offer bonuses to your prayer.
When you run out of prayer points, all prayers will automatically stop working and you will need to either pray at an altar or drink a Prayer potion before you are able to use them again (if you die this will also reset them).
As your Prayer level increases the amount of prayer points you have available to you will also increase. Note that any reduction to your Prayer skill itself will naturally heal over time.
Listed below are all the prayers, their effects and what Prayer level you will need in order to use them:

|Retribution *||46||15||Inflicts damage to nearby targets if you die||Damage dealt up to 25% of your max prayer points to all nearby enemies. Note that this prayer will not hurt other players outside of PvP areas, and it won't hit multiple targets in non-multicombat zones.|
|Redemption *||49||15||Heals you when damaged and health falls below 10%||When your health drops below 10%, but doesn’t reach 0, you will be healed for 25% of your maximumprayer points.|
|Smite *||52||20||Opponent's Prayer stat is drained according to how much damage is done||1 prayer point is lost for every 40 points of damage dealt. This prayer drain effect isn't affected by your victim's protection prayers.|
|Chivalry +||60||15||Increases your Defence by 20%, Strength by 18% and Attack by 15%.||Must have completed King's Ransom and the training room in Camelot.|
|Rapid Renewal||65||10||Restores life points at 5x the normal rate.||Must be purchased from the reward trader of Daemonheim.|
|Piety +||70||20||Increases your Defence by 25%, Strength by 23% and Attack by 20%.||Must have completed King's Ransom and the training room in Camelot.|
|Rigour||74||20||Increases your Ranged by 20% and Defence by 25%.|
|Augury||77||20||Increases magical accuracy by 20% and Defence by 25%.|
* These prayers cannot be used at the same time as each other.
~ Hold time is not reduced against Ancient Magick ice spells.
