Players who have signed up to the programme can invite up to 50 friends every month through email. Just fill in the following:
You can also use a direct link that we provide. This link can be used an unlimited amount of times and is intended to be used on your website, blog or social network page.
To do this, go to this web page and click 'invite your friends now'. You can also send out invites via the Recruit a Friend tab on your Account Settings page.
You will also see a summary of your bonus days, and your invitations on this page.
Every time you recruit a new friend, their name will be added to the invite status web page. This is accessible via your Account Settings page.
At each stage of the recruitment process, your recruit's entry will be updated:
You, as the recruiter, will be notified when your friend - the recruit - at each stage of the process.

New players who have created an account via a referral link will receive a cracker when they log in for the first time. Your recruit can pull this cracker with any player, but it would be nice to do this with you. In the cracker your recruit will receive one of each type of the items on the right:
Your XP bonus is earned as your recruits gain XP. This is 10% of what they gain. If you are not on the same world as your recruit (or you or your recruit is not online), your XP bonus will be stored so that you can use it next time you login. If you are both on the same world however, you will get your bonus straight away.
If you are on the same world as your recruit and are within a ranged of them you will receive a 20% XP bonus instead.
Note that your XP bonus will be in the same type of XP that your recruit earned. E.g. if your recruit earns Woodcutting XP, then your bonus XP can only be gained by Woodcutting.
The XP bonus will be displayed on the Statistics interface (underneath Current, Next Level, Remainder).
The XP bonus will continue for as long as both you and your recruit are members.
1. Why change the Recruit a Friend system?
The old system was giving a reward that was the same regardless of who you recruited. Players recruiting players is really important to us and we want a system that rewards you for recruiting someone that we and the community want in the game – a potential long term player who loves the game as much as you and we do.
2. Wasn’t it called Refer a Friend before?
Yeah, we changed the name. It sounds cooler now.
3. Why does the bonus XP have to be earned through skilling?
We still want you to play the game! For an active RuneScape player, additional XP made through skilling is as good as real XP.
4. Does the bonus XP stack with other bonus XP providing events and items?
The 10% XP you get from your recruit is worked out before any bonuses they might get. If they’re using a Stealing Creation tool you still get 10% of the base amount.
XP is earned at the rate before bonuses are applied as well. It’s never wasted, though. If you have stored 1000 bonus XP from your friend, that’ll always give you exactly 1000 XP in the end no matter how you earned it.
5. Do I have to be a member to receive my XP bonus?
Both you and your recruit must have active membership in order to accumulate bonus XP. If you have bonus XP stored up and your membership lapses, you will still have access to this, but you won't gain any more until you resubscribe.
6. Why are my recruits on my friends list?
The best possible tutorial for our new players is another player who can show them what to do. We hope that the RAF system will encourage you to help your friends to learn the game. Adding them to your friends list helps you to contact them.
7. What happens if I recruited my friends under the old scheme?
You won’t be eligible for the new membership credit reward, but the game will treat your existing recruits exactly as if you had recruited them under the new system. This means you will get the 10% XP siphon and the 20% teamwork bonus from those players. If any of your old recruits have lapsed their memberships, now might be a good time to remind them.
8. I've suddenly lost my bonus membership credit. Why has this happened?
Membership credit can be removed from your account if there was a problem with your friend’s payment for their first or second month’s membership. This could be for many reasons, but we'll be unable to let you know the specifics behind this, in order to respect your friend's privacy. If the problem is resolved, then your free membership will be restored.
9. What if my recruit recruits a friend, do I get XP from them too?
You only get XP from your recruits earning XP through playing. The bonus XP they get from their own recruits doesn’t count.
