In-game safety/Reporting

Redirected from Reporting

Just like real life you may sometimes come across players that are annoying, rude or that you just don't get on with. The best way to handle these types of players is to add them to your Ignore List or adjust your chat settings so you're no longer bothered by them.

On rare occasions you may come across a player whose behaviour is more than just irritating. When a player's actions have gone past simple trolling, you have the reporting tool at your disposal.

The reporting tool sends a snapshot of in-game chat to the Jagex Customer Support team. They will then look over the report and take any further action necessary

How do I send a report?

To submit an abuse report, simply click on the Report a Player button towards the bottom-right-hand corner of the All Chat interface, and click on 'report a player'. Once you have clicked report a player, you will be able to choose what player is causing offence.

Select the relevant chat or player you wish to report from a list of recent chat. Their name will then appear in the bottom area. Player moderators will be able to click the 'mute this player for 48 hours' box if they no longer wish other players to see their chat. Press 'next' when you're sure you've picked the correct player.

If you have 'right click reporting' enabled then you can also report a player by right clicking them and choose 'report'. You can enable this by opening the game options and making sure that the 'Right-click reporting' checkbox is ticked.

After choosing to report a player through either of these methods, you will be shown a screen where you can decide which rule you are reporting the player for:

On the next screen you'll be shown the interface to the left. Select the offence that correlates with that committed by the player and your report will be submitted. Player moderators will also have another chance to temporarily mute them for 48 hours. This option is the tick box at the top of the interface.

The final part of the interface, available to all players, is the option to ignore the until you log out.

Please do not submit more than one abuse report for each incident. We can get all the information we need from a single report.

You can find out more about each of these rules here. If you are not sure which rule to choose, just choose which ever rule you think is the best fit. Don't worry if you click the wrong offence, our Player Support team will still know how to handle your report!

Remember that a report will only contain the in-game chat that took place at the time you sent the report, so you shouldn't wait to discuss the matter with someone. If you wait too long then it may be too late! You can always talk to someone about the incident after you've sent the report.
