The rune platebody is an item of mid-level melee armour made from runite metal. A player must complete the Dragon Slayer quest along with having 50 Defence or higher in order to wear the platebody. The rune platebody can be bought after the quest from Oziach for 65,000 coins, on the Grand Exchange, or made from five rune bars by a player with 99 Smithing. The tortoises in the Tree Gnome Stronghold have them as a rare drop.
