The Saradomin godsword (or SGS) is a powerful two-handed melee weapon, and out of the four godswords, it is the second-most expensive. Like all godswords, it requires level 75 attack to wield. The sword is aligned to Saradomin, the god of order and has a special attack, Healing Blade, where damage done heals the wielder as well as restoring some prayer points.
When used, half (1/2, rounded down) of the damage dealt by the sword is restored to the player's life points, and 1/4 of the damage is restored to the player's Prayer. It also increases damage by 10%, making it also viable for PKing. This drains 50% of the special attack bar (or a 45% drain if the player uses a Ring of Vigour). The sword's special attack must hit to have the effect. The Special Attack does NOT increase accuracy, but only increases the hit by 10%. There is a minimum restoration of 100 life points and 50 Prayer points, even with a hit of 1. For example, hits between 1 and 201 damage have the same healing effect, but hits of 202 or more will increase the amount of restoration.
It is created by adding the Saradomin hilt to a completed godsword blade that requires 80 smithing to create. However, it can also be obtained by buying one of the Grand Exchange or by trading another player.
Before chaotic weapons, the wilderness and free trade were introduced, it was worth between 60 and 70 million coins. However, since other methods of healing have been considered better or more practical, such as enhanced excalibur and titan and unicorn special abilities, it has fallen drastically. Currently, the price fluctuates between 25,000,000 and 30,000,000 coins.
- The Saradomin Godsword is one of the rarest godswords, largely due to the high agility requirement (70) to enter and fight the dangerous Commander Zilyana. This makes other easier and more accessible bosses, such as General Graardor, more appealing to fight.
