The skeletal horror is a monster that can be faced after completing the Fur 'n' Seek quest and both of the Odd Old Man's bone wishlists. Constructed from various bones collected during the Rag and Bone Man and Fur 'n' Seek quests, it is a dangerous opponent that must first be weakened by removing and burying its limbs before it can be destroyed.

When the battle starts, the horror will attack with magic or melee depending on the player's distance and their protection prayers. After taking some damage its right arm will fly off, which the player must quickly pick up and bury before the horror can retrieve it. If a limb isn't buried quickly after being picked up it will jump out of the player's inventory. Burying the arm will weaken the horror to level-260 for the next stage of the fight.

In the second stage, the fight continues as before with the beast still using magic and melee attacks. After receiving enough damage the beast's left arm will fly off and the player needs to bury it quickly. The beast will now be weakened to level-160 and will be closer to defeat.

After losing both arms, the beast will only use melee attacks so the player can switch to melee protection prayers if needed. Again, the player must keep damaging the horror until its tail comes off, and once this is buried the horror will be reduced to level-100 for the final stage of the fight. With the beast weakened, the player should be able to kill it without too much trouble.

The first time the horror is defeated, the player will receive 10,000 Slayer and 7,000 Prayer experience. The Odd Old Man will also set about rebuilding the horror for "research purposes" and will invite the player to return once a week to ensure the beast is kept under control. Subsequent fights will award 1,250 Slayer and 1,000 Prayer experience, and the horror is also known to drop elite clue scrolls.
