A superior tree-shaking scrimshaw is an item that can only be made in a Player-Owned Ports workshop. To learn how to make this item, the player must first collect all four pieces of the tree-shaking scroll, which can be found by sending adventurers on special voyages.

After completing the scroll, the player can make a tree-shaking scrimshaw in the port workshop from ten ancient bones. This requires level-90 Fletching and provides 4,000 Fletching XP, not including the percentage bonus given by the workshop.

The scrimshaw requires level-80 Woodcutting to equip and is worn in the pocket slot. While chopping trees with the scrimshaw active, the drop rate for birds nests is increased by 400% and implings may fall out of the tree. Implings that can be disturbed include kingly, zombie, dragon, pirate, ninja, magpie, nature, spirit and eclectic.

The scrimshaw will last for four hours before crumbling to dust. It can be activated and de-activated by right-clicking on it in the Worn Equipment tab.
