When casting the spell from the normal spellbook, it will transport you to one of 15 lodestones scattered around RuneScape. You will be afble to chose which lodestone you wish to go to, through a map interface like the one to the right.
By default both the Lumbridge and Burthorpe lodestones are unlocked for members. Only Lumbridge is unlocked by default for free-to-play players. Others must be visited manually to unlock them, or unlocked via the completion of a quest. To teleport to a location, click the appropriate icon. Locked icons are locations that have yet to have their lodestone activated.
Note that the lodestone interface will not show if you have either the members or free-to-play tutorials active and have not yet completed them - you will be teleported to Burthorpe or Lumbridge (respectively) by default.
Teleporting is the fastest and easiest method to get to the main towns, providing that you have the required Magic level and runes. Please be aware that some of these spells are members only.

Whenever you complete a treasure trail, there is a chance that you will receive a teleport scroll
. Obtained from any difficulty of clue scroll, these are one-off teleports that will disappear once used. They are stackable and tradable and travel to the following locations:
The great cave goblin scientist, Oldak, has been experimenting with runes and has developed this marvel of the magical age. The moving-over-distance sphere
isn't a perfect piece of arcane technology, though, so it will teleport you to any one of several locations in Dorgesh-Kaan when you break it.
Dorgesh-kaan sphere To get another sphere, simply take two law runes and some molten glass to Oldak's laboratory in north-west Dorgesh-Kaan.
Goblin village sphere If you have completed Another Slice of H.A.M., Oldak will also make spheres to take you to the Goblin Village. Again, these will require molten glass and two law runes.
Plain of mud sphere If you have completed Land of the Goblins, Oldak will then make spheres to take you to the Plain of Mud. As with all teleportation spheres, these will require molten glass and two law runes.
Bandos throne room sphere After completing The Chosen Commander, Oldak discovers yet more powerful ways of teleporting and will make spheres to take you to Bandos's throne room on Yu'biusk.

Both the bonesack(e)
and the ram skull helm(e)
will allow you to teleport to the Odd Old Man's shack, near to the limestone quarry west of Paterdomus, once per rebuild of the skeletal horror.
Particularly skilled thieves may find this ancient symbol of office while plundering the Jalsavrah Pyramid in Sophanem. This sceptre
is imbued with certain magical properties that will transport the bearer to any of the three great pyramids: Jalsavrah, Jaleustrophos and Jaldraocht.
Jalsavrah is the pyramid in Sophanem in which you found the sceptre, and this teleport will take you directly into the Guardian Mummy's presence.
Jaleustrophos is the Agility Pyramid, and will deposit you near Simon Templeton's camp.
Jaldraocht is the pyramid that you must go to if you wish to change your spellbook to Ancient Magicks - provided you have already completed Desert Treasure, of course.
The sceptre only holds three charges, but you can recharge it by giving the Guardian Mummy a number of artefacts from within Jalsavrah Pyramid. You will need 24 pottery or ivory artefacts, 12 stone artefacts or 6 gold artefacts to recharge the sceptre.
This sceptre
offers 10 teleports as opposed to the 3 offered by the jewelled golden sceptre. Also, when wielding this sceptre in Pyramid Plunder, you get the following benefits:
You can recharge it in the same way as the jewelled golden sceptre.
Within the depths of the Stronghold of Security a variety of nasty beasts wait, some of which hold the pieces necessary to construct a skull sceptre. These pieces are scattered across all four of the Stronghold's levels, and only the mightiest of warriors will be able to collect them.
Each piece of the sceptre is found on a different level, so you will need to fight monsters on every floor of the Stronghold to gather the parts. As none of the individual parts are tradeable, this is the only way to get a skull sceptre. You will have a greater chance of obtaining a piece of the sceptre if you are wearing the Varrock armour.
If you succeed in putting one together, you will find that the sceptre has five charges (ten if you have completed all of the Easy Tasks in the Varrock set), each of which will teleport you to the Barbarian Village, near to the entrance to the Stronghold of Security. The sceptre will disintegrate when all charges have been used.
Drakan's Medallion is obtained during The Branches of Darkmeyer.
Drakan's Medallion was used by Drakan to teleport across Morytania at a time when the surface was conquered by races other than vampyres. It is the ideal method of transportation for getting to the Barrows, Burgh de Rott, Meiyerditch and Darkmeyer. To unlock all teleport options for the medallion, you must complete The Branches of Darkmeyer. Drakan's Medallion carries four charges and can be recharged at the blood pool in the cave south of Burgh de Rott.
Remora's necklace is obtained upon completion of Song from the Depths.
Remora's necklace was used by you to escape the belly of the Queen Black Dragon. It can be used to teleport you to Rimmington once per day.
The completion of the Tree Gnome Village Quest is required in order to use the spirit trees
.
There are six different spirit tree locations. They are:
Only the spirit trees in the Tree Gnome Village and the Tree Gnome Stronghold can transport you to any of the other three spirit trees, the other trees will only return you to the Tree Gnome Village. If you have reached a certain stage in The Path of Glouphrie, though, you can use any tree to travel to any other.
In addition, you are able to grow your own spirit trees by using the Farming skill. These will take you to the spirit tree in the Tree Gnome Stronghold. Planting a spirit tree requires level 83 Farming. You may grow one spirit tree at a time, or two if you have completed Prisoner of Glouphrie and have a Farming level of 86.
If you have completed Prisoner of Glouphrie, you can store your spirit tree seeds with Golrana in the centre of the Tree Gnome Village maze.
* If you have completed all Easy Tasks in the Varrock set, you can talk to Rat Burgiss to swap your teleport location to a point south of the Grand Exchange. Speak to him again to swap it back to the market.
^ A Teleport to House tablet, constructed in the study of your POH, can be modified so that it takes you to any POH house portal, rather than the one that your house currently resides at. You will need to have completed Love Story, and have a chisel in your inventory to modify the tablet. It is also possible to modify Teleport to House tablets to take you to Trollheim: this can be achieved by recovering a book from a dwarf miner in Keldagrim, and returning it to the Wise Old Man.
= With the update on 13/03/2012 the exact location of this teleport was changed slightly, but remains within the area stated.
