If Thanksgiving is about giving thanks, Captain Turkerton has found it to be anything but. Each year, the plumpest of his friends and family have been whisked away to be killed, eaten and unceremoniously stuffed in sandwiches. This year it stops: he has drawn a line in the sand, and he has blockaded the Cooks’ Guild. The list of demands is short: have a Thanksgiving feast without turkey on the menu. The question is: can you persuade King Roald that a Thanksgiving feast without poultry will be anything but a turkey?

The Event

To receive the list of demands, you will first need to talk to Captain Turkerton, outside the Cooks’ Guild. He will send you, as the turkey emissary, to King Roald, who will in turn give you a list of items that could form a vegetarian Thanksgiving.

Herbs and spices from Bob Barter at the Grand Exchange

Bob Barter is the herb specialist in the Grand Exchange. In the north-westernmost area of the Exchange, you should be able to persuade him to supply the meal for you.

The finest wines and ales known to humanity from the Blue Moon Inn

The Blue Moon Inn is the tavern found in the centre of Varrock, a short southerly walk from the fountain in the marketplace. Talk to the Bartender and he will happily provide the drinks for the feast.

Copious amounts of fruit and veg from the general store

A few steps north of the Blue Moon Inn, and just South of the marketplace fountain in Varrock, is the general store. Talk to the Shopkeeper to order some fresh fruit and veg. Talking to the Shop Assistant will not work.

All that is left is to talk to King Roald, and return to Captain Turkerton with the good news. A cutscene will occur where a Guard will appear to execute Captain Turkenton for causing rebellion against King Roald. You either have the option to let the Guard kill him or vouch for Captain Turkerton. Either option gives you the same reward.

Rewards

Complete the event and you will unlock the Give Thanks emote and a ‘Crest of the Turkey’ motif for you to add to your herald cape. Players on free worlds can use these rewards, but the cape's crest must be changed to use the emote, and the cape must be unlocked to the fifth tier before you can change the crest. This requires three local F2P quests and some number of local tasks. Open the herald's "customize" interface for details. Members are able to take Mackers the turkey as their pet.
